Not a single knee jerked back when Danny signed did it?

I of course have never ever gotten a player assessment wrong because I'm brilliant at it, although I do recall thinking we should make Vlad Chiriches captain

There is another Danny Rose thread from last year where most people including myself held my hands up and were thrilled with his transition. In his case I think attitude and psychology are to behind the turnaround. You could blame him or the previous managers for that, or could say that he has matured and grown.

Either way there is nothing better than being proved wrong about a player still at the club as it is for the greater good!

Actually, being proven right about a player is better.

I got a fair bit of grief for backing Rose after his return from Sunderland...

I are now in smug mode.

There were a good few of us that have been loving Rose for years. Me, @Blake Griffin, @eddiebailey and I'm sure there were a few others.

He's always been perceived to have a bad attitude by the body language experts, but I've never thought it was the case. He just has resting bitch face

To have Muller in your pocket for a whole 93 minutes is something, considering Muller is arguably the best player in the world for off the ball movement and reading of the game. Credit where credits due Muller barely touched the ball in that match.

True but he deserved critism for lack of effort when running back previously. You can't always blindly say someone is making full effort and playing brilliantly when they aren't. I'm not one of the knee jerkers or people to slag players off but Rose has come on a million miles from what he was turning in previously.

Either way it was fantastic seeing him win pretty much all of his battles and tackles for England last night. Proud from a club perspective of what he has achieved.

Oh I don't disagree on the justified criticism, it was the cretins saying he'd never make it that I was at odds with.
Those same paragons of ability appraisal that said Kane was only good enough for Championship at best, Lamela wasn't suited to the English game, Alderweireld wasn't up to it ad nauseum.

Sometimes talent doesn't manifest to its maximum potential, but when you write off that talent before they have the chance to get established then you are a fool.

I backed Danny from day, even when the lad was taking pellets from our fans two years ago. You could see he had massive potential, it just needed channeling.

Who got the most abuse in their early days with Spurs, Rose or Bale?

Maybe our players only fulfill their potential once SC has completely eradicate any pressure for them to perform.

Final distribution can improve but overall I love the way he has developed under Poch. Can seriously hit the ball aswell which we have seen a few times.

He's really come on the last 2 seasons and is now a really important part of our team. Well done to him, and to the coaching staff. He deserves the international recognition and he is blossoming in to and excellent full-back.

Reading your comment, it occurs to me that our full-backs have probably copped more abuse than any other position, historically, or so it seems to me. Statistically it can't be because we have worse full-backs than anyone else, so is it because ... it's the hardest position to play ... mistakes are most seriously punished ... they play in the viewers' foreground (stands and cameras)? Or perhaps I'm mistaken about the abuse ... interested in your thoughts.

Regarding Rose, it's all been said. Possibly the best LB in the league and international experience will only improve him further.
