Well tbh I don't think he's as high on our wishlist as others are. Imo(slightly educated) I'd say this was a more favourable deal from Madrid's side than ours, as we'd prefer others.

I posted last Summer we were looking at him but I'm not sure we've actively looked to push it forward
Again it's not something I've been outright told which is why I'm putting it in here rather than in the itk thread.

I wonder if the Eriksen developments and a strong showing from Ceballos at the U21 Euros have changed things recently. I would rather Lo Celso all day but if Eriksen does leave we'd arguably need both to move forward.

I really don't see the down side to this, if we get him in he will be winks understudy. If he adapts we have a potential world class mf for a relatively cheap price.

If he doesn't, ship him back. Worth the risk imo. There are not many players of his style and quality available at the moment.

He isn't going to want to join a club that if we are honest is a million miles off the stature of Madrid as an understudy for anyone.

Yeah, but we are not going to tell him that.

He is an under 21 and part time player at Madrid. He will be the same at spurs, but unlike Madrid if he proves himself he will become a first team regular.

Loan with an obligation/option to buy for around 30mil would be great business. Madrid only paid 18 for him and he certainly hasn't doubled his value while he's been there.

I would have thought he could play behind Kane or play as part of s three in midfield - am I right

For 30m he’s with buying mate...it has to be more than that

Lo Celso looks more like a Dele or Lamela type
Zaniolo looks like an intelligent player
We could get him and Ceballos. 2 excellent prospects for Eriksen

Kovacic have played one season in PL he will become great.
I could be proven wrong, but I can't see him pushing on much from last season. He seems incredibly limited. I was under the impression that he was a box-to-box player with a strong passing game. He only registered 2 assists last season, and a massive 4 shots on target. He doesn't really seem to dictate the tempo of play, and his defensive duties leave a lot to the imagination. It feels like Chelsea only signed him on a permanent because they had the agreement in place and couldn't sign anyone else!

Think he plays mainly in CM although he looks to have the skill set to play further forward IMO.

Just read on Marca that we are considered favourites for Ceballos. Liverpool now credited with an interest (along with the goons and a return to Betis) but are reluctant to loan him.

AS reporting we are happy to loan him with no buy option. Marca saying we are happy to loan him with an option to buy and allow Madrid a buy back clause. None of which sound like Spurs in any way shape or form.

As soon as multiple English clubs are credited with an interest, you know it's probably bollocks.

Let's see, I saw him quite a lot in Spain and was very impressed.

Agree, lots of media "chuck enough shite" see what sticks going on as usual.

Last 24 hours I've seen Ceballos, Dembele and Fernandes mentioned in the same sentence as Liverpool. I'm pretty sure there'd be loads more if I could be arsed to look.

I’d like to know what Lyall has to say.
