Every club has one, according to this article.

Although, reading the Top Ten, we actually have two: The Ginger Pele (for the lost art of trying your bloody best) and Dimitar 'the epitome of footballing cool' Berbatov.

And then reading the top comment beneath it, we actually have another two who could fit the Doherty criteria (Freund and Teemu), whereas I would say that my 'too cool for school' choice would be the one and only Steeeeeeeed.

So, who's your Tottenham cult hero and why?

P.S. The line about Doherty that "he could play in both central defence or as a striker... and joyfully didn't appear to change his style in any way to account for the nuances of these very different roles" absolutely slayed me.

Aw, I remember seeing Doherty play for us in an XI Match again Chesham. For possibly the first and only time in his career he was the best player on the pitch.

Lennon.

Some day I hope to have a job where I do fuck all for 5 years, whilst picking up 70 grand a week for my efforts, or lack thereof.

He's my idol.

It's still a short thread with mainly rather recent names, yet still a bunch of worthy names. Guess we've been blessed on this department with very different kind of cult heroes.
