COYS- how many on here are refugees from that site?

There was a COYS-mention in the "Alternative Prem Table" thread which got me thinking: how many COYSers (or ex-COYSers) are there on here? And what are our opinions about that site (either in comparison to this one or just on its own, as a Spurs forum)? I think it would be interesting to discuss COYS on here since you're not allowed to talk about COYS on COYS.

(Mods- please move, redirect and/or delete this thread if it's somehow problematic, or if this isn't the right place for it)

I'm pretty sure you're not allowed to talk about it on here, but I was on it and was banned so many times for arbitrary stuff (like asking a guy if he was serious when he called for Lloris to be sold in September '12 and calling Friedel 'the Yank') that I pulled up stumps and came here.

Hardly a regular around these pastures, and the football discussion on COYS was sometimes a bit more insightful, but it wasn't like talking to real people. It was like being at pre-school.

If this stays civil it can stay, as soon as it isn't we'll close it :)

I briefly joined that site shortly after becoming a member here

I didn't really stay very long - the interface here is much nicer, we have a wider range of discussion topics and posters with views and personalities

COYS offered me nothing more than I get here and this site does everything COYS does for a fans Spurs related discussion needs and much more - so I just stopped going there and continued posting here

I don't have any negative experiences of the site like others seem to - I just think its significantly inferior to this website as a Spurs fans forum

I was banned for 6 months because I made a joke about people who believe in god having a mental illness. A lot of the posters are really helpful about off topic questions, but I thought it was often very over moderated with a couple seemingly having a bit of a god complex with the power they wielded. It's nice to not be on the end of trolling abuse or suffer personal attacks, but sometimes it just got ridiculous with wasn't acceptable. Doubt I'll ask to go back after my ban is lifted.

I was banned for failing to keep my post count up. I became a member after joining here. I always felt rather out of place on COYS and the site always seemed too controlled and governed. What I like about SC, is the ability to have a good debate, without too much fear of being rapped across the knuckles or banned. I like also the fact that I can post when I want, and not have to say "Happy Birthday" to every tom and dick just to keep my post count up.

I got banned for questioning another members language (player abuse which is against their rules) when I pointed out that the person in question and his little choir were mods or favorites I got the chop, oh well

Banned for questioning accuracy and motivation of ITK ers.
Cardinal sin apparently. 'Thankyou for posting' syndrome.
Fact that I was contributing to a discussion on the 'Dear Mr. Levy' site didn't seem to make much difference.
Been banned from transfer and ITK stuff on here too so it must be me.
This is better, Mods have more of a sense of humour and better judgment.
Some extremely knowledgeable posters on here.
As good as anything on COYS for sure.
Off topic stuff on COYS was usually very informative and on occasions helpful.
Bit like ftl which I also enjoy. Bit clique though.
More open on here and very little trolling and abuse .
Members themselves patrol it well too.
That is all.

Is that the site where you have to write why you should be allowed to join?

If it is, i didn't post anything for a few weeks and when i went back i could no longer log in.

I wasn't banned but was on both COYS and here for a long time.
I find COYS to be a great site with lots of really good posters. Yes, they have their rules but then again that's their choice.
I decided at one stage to just focus on SC though due to the this being for me the best of the two - the humour on here has me in stitches and I find that there is a more diverse bunch of posters which makes it interesting,
