Lighten up everyone.....its abit of fun ffs....do we remember what that is
When Arsenal qualify for the EL again maybe we can start calling it St Östersundsday.
Maybe we should start by developing a trend first, not create a day based on one (hopefully two) seasons. Ultimately they have enough cash to still be near us until we move to a new stadium and begin to cement our position in the Top 4.
Even through their relatively lame spell, they still beat us this season and could easily have taken points off us at Wembley.
Thread's a bit premature, IMO.
Maybe Burnley might beat them to it. Although goons with no Europe could seriously be a danger in the league IF Wenger ever decides to sort out the defence.
Exactly. They did it for 21 consecutive years, and had finished above us for 7 consecutive seasons before it was coined as a term (2002 it was first used, and before last year they'd finished above us every year since 1995/96).
It would be brilliantly small time for us to do it literally the minute we do it two consecutive seasons. Just like it was chanting 'You're shit' at Bournemouth at the weekend, who are far beneath us in terms of finances and had given us a very good game and we got away with a scoreline that flattered us.
In fact, most things about modern fandom are hugely small-time. Best to stay above it all
Welcome @Shaul B . My personal view is that St Totteringham Day was juvenile anyway, so for us to adopt it would be embarrassing as we would be going down to their level. We are bigger than that. Continue to finish above them and start winnings things will do more harm to their credibility and damage to their self esteem.Hey, I'm new here, so please pardon the newbie question.
After suffering St Totteringham's Day for so many years, it looks like it's going to be cancelled again this year. We really should have a name for our day, especially if it continues (God willing) for many decades to come.
Has this been discussed or decided on anywhere else?
- St Arsenic's Day?
- Goners Day?
- Arse-in-the-Hole Day? (Though that probably won't catch on in "respectable" media)
