Don't you think discussing whether or not we could become champions whilst their season fizzles out is a bigger kick to the face then any stupid day-naming term can ever be?

I want to continue calling it St. totteringhams day.

Those dim-witted red-assed baboons will never know what hit them. They'll forever then feel the pains of trying to use the term in the future should they ever finish above us again and remember this year.

It seems cruel to play such psychological warfare on people with lower IQ than a head of cabbage, but at the end of the day fuck em.

On a positive spin I'd also like to continue calling it St. Totteringhams day because that's what we do.

We take words hurled at us derogatorily and use them as armour and with pride. Just like with "yid" and "Yiddo" we stand with our fellow spuds and use their same barbs against them.

We shouldn't sink down to their level. I think it will piss Arsenal fans off more if we just ignored them anyway.

Anyway we should concentrate on our success rather than others downfalls

I am surprised you made this thread though @onthetwo you'ev been quite negative and pessimistic about everything to do with us all season and now you suddenly want to jump on the bandwagon and give it the big one? Won't your friends be calling you out on that? Or are you different in person than you are on here?

I'd rather we just sat above them not saying a word, it'd drive them nuts.

If we did need a name though, I'd go with St. Notteringham's day.

I'd like to be bigger than this... but I'm not.

I haven't finalised it just yet but the working title at the moment is 'Piss off back to the south of the river you loathsome pack of arse clowns Day'

No need at all. If/when it happens, even gooners I have never met, will whince and cower at my obvious smugness.

'We've waited far too fucking long for this' day.
Well done Daniel Levy* :woot:

*You just know that if we do finish above them, at the umpteenth attempt, he'll get the credit so fuck it yeah, what better name than 'Daniel Levy Day"

*baits hook, cast faaaaar and wiiiiiiiide and waits patiently for the BeeSoddles to arrive :hungry:

EDIT: actually scratch all that, its just me being silly. After all, as everyone knows, every day is Daniel Levy day :sneaky:

Everyone's talking about not sinking to their level, but instituting St. Totteringham's day was actually quite smart and funny. Not for us obviously, but it's sharper than 99% of the garbage football fans come out with, blud.

Why would we bother? It's their 'gag' why duplicate it? Surely there's no more hilarity to be had from it.
Plus if the next two decades pans out like the last two it'll just be another piece of ammunition in their wonderful 'comedy Arsenal.'

(See what I did there?)

It's a personal thing, but I can't ever be bothered with football "banter", as it's pretty transient and always comes back to bite you on the arse.

Any Gooner I know worth their salt would simply draw my attention to the 1995-2015 period.

I think we should just leave it, celebrating finishing above your rivals is small-time mentality and as a club and fanbase we are way passed that, let them be the ones that obsess over us not the other way round.

They have finished above us for 20 years ,finished in CL every year and went unbeaten all season but still celebrate St Totterings day.....so you saying they are small time?

FUCK OFF THEY'RE GONNA GET SOME...CALL ME SMALL MINDED ....HAPPY ST GONERS DAY!!

Considering we've still got to get 7 points to confirm we'll finish above them, I think I'll worry about if and what we call that day when it happens.

I remember similar scenes on SC a few years back during the 'mind the gap' fiasco. There were some posters on here who looked like right prunes when we ballsed it up so I'm not going down that road just yet!

How about St DVDs day. They day we bring out a DVD to celebrate being ahead of Arsenal? No?

That's how we would come across.
