If Brighton are after Dewsbury-Hall, get in there before someone pays Brighton £100m for him further down the line.

Dewsbury Hall all day over Gallagher IMO, both hard workers but DH has better end product.

Yeah but you have to consider the leagues both are playing in.

If you stick Gallagher in that’s Leicester team he will score/assist a lot more.

Also add into the equation Gallagher’s leadership qualities and he’s a couple of years younger too.

Ornstein has linked us with Jacob Ramsey - potential Gallagher alternative?

This is the piece he says about Gallagher and us:

Conor Gallagher, Armando Broja, Trevoh Chalobah: Chelsea to Spurs and others
Given Conor Gallagher’s contract expires at the end of next season and a new deal looks unlikely at present, it is plausible Chelsea agree to sell him either this month or in the summer.

There have been enquiries from three clubs in the top half of the Premier League and despite the 23-year-old’s importance to Mauricio Pochettino’s line-up, his outlook remains uncertain.

Trading a homegrown product like Gallagher would help Chelsea’s financial position considerably and the same is true of Armando Broja and Trevoh Chalobah. Both are available to leave permanently or on loan with an obligation to buy. Wolverhampton Wanderers and Fulham are the strongest contenders for Broja at present, though there is no guarantee that he will depart.

I was coming here in the hope that this was posted somewhere.

I'm such a big fan of Jacob Ramsey. That kid is awesome IMO and I'm baffled as to why he's not getting played. He's been a bit injury prone but man, I would be ecstatic if we signed him.

Can someone post what Ornstein said about him?

I like Ramsey but I’m not sure what role he’d fit for us.

He isn’t creative enough to play the
Maddison role and I think he’s too attacking to play the Sarr role.

That's fair and I tend to agree, but I'm honestly just such a fan of his that all sense and reason is going out the window. Every time I watch him he has hugely impressed me. I realise I'm being a bit of a fan boy right now but I just see so much in him.

He carries the ball superbly well, scores goals. Whether he has the creativity going forward or work rate to tackle back, I don't know, but I feel he's young enough to be molded still and could develop into a top all round central midfielder.

Surely Ramsey would be an even more difficult deal to do than Gallagher? Why would Villa want to sell him if he’s good?

The piece says that Villa need to sell, but also says that Ramsey would be north of £50m. I can't see it.

if they need £50m for him then nobody will bite given the FFP situation. So they will have to reduce or sell another few players or fail FFP next season. Seems like something has to give on the Villa end.
