Life's too short ..

God bless Christian....and I'm not even religious.

Puts everything into perspective.

Love you all.

This was such an underrated goal.

We badly needed the win here to get out of the group. His goal was definitely the catalyst for the start of our champions league run.

Prayers are with you and your family Christian ?

Just glad his two kids have still got their dad around. I've been a mess this afternoon, can only imagine what his family have gone through.

I did first aid a couple of years ago, will probably do again sometime too. It's just a matter of doing the right thing before the medical team attend the situation. For this type of situation you have to tilt the head back to clear the airways, roll them into the recovery position. That's what Kjaer did.

Well worth getting this app by the way

When the camera panned to his face, before the gravity of the situation had sunk in, I thought he’d died. I hadn’t even noticed him go down so I thought it had been the result of some thuggery at first. I said to my mates in my WhatsApp group that I thought he’d gone at that point, and that was before the medics were on or anything. It really was horrifying and as relieved as I am he’s woken up, I’m really quite traumatised still.
Its going to take me a long time to forget what he looked like at that point.

I'm in a bar in ayia Napa tonight
The bar owner turns out to be a fanatical gooner...never met or knew him before tonight
When Christian went down we cried together...

Says it all.

I have always wondered why schools or perhaps college or universities don't teach cpr. Should be like any compulsory course. It saves lives and anything we are able to do within our control and capabilities should be done.

I do a refresher first aid course every 2 years for work, touch wood I’ve never had to use any of the training beyond the basic but it’s good to know that if something did happen I feel I could preserve someone’s life until the professionals turned up. This stuff should be taught at school, and everyone should be encouraged to have basic first aid training if at all possible and this should be made much more readily available by local health authorities

I maybe got a bit heated in the moment, but the director of the match coverage is going to have a lot of answering to do. I’m a camera operator so I know how this goes down - all the tight cameras initial reactions would have been to crash in to find out what’s going on. At that point, some may have pulled out of their own accord, but the director will have been telling them exactly what to do ie stay in and offer up the shots. No doubt at all, that he was asking Ops to find Eriksens wife and offer that shot up, and even worse, to then decide to use the shot and all the shots of Eriksen live.

All of that is the directors decision until someone even higher overrules it, but that would have taken time. The director and producer ( who may not have been quick enough on the ball to override the live images going out ) should be taking an absolute shellacking.

the images of Eriksens wife were almost the worst to me.

If there’s enough of a backlash UEFA will simply demand that the director is relieved of his duties and won’t work for them again.

I actually turned down working the Euros and could have easily ended up on this game on a tight camera. Thankfully, I did, because I’m not sure I would have mentally recovered from that.
Thanks for clarifying buddy. I wasn’t watching and thankfully haven’t seen any footage so I didn’t understand your post.

Just shocking. Was so difficult to watch.

My dad called me immediately in tears. I've seen him cry once before in my life. We were both in complete shock.

A friend of mine died of cardiac arrest about 2 years ago. Fit as a fiddle. But he was at home alone so nobody could help him. Got a wife and 2 young kids.

I immediately got a check at the CRY clinic https://www.c-r-y.org.uk/ cardiac risk in the young - up to 35 years old)

Please don't let tragic circumstances make you appreciate life. Life is a beautiful and delicate thing. Really hope Eriksen recovers and is able to enjoy his life again.

Love to you all

I was so upset to see this today
Memories of Fabrice Muamba
Eriksen is one of the all time Tottenham greats
From 2014 to 2018 he was magic
Sure he lost his form a bit and left us but his wonderful assists and goals and creativity were high points of the Poch era
So glad to hear he is awake and recovering
A truly special player

It may have been me but the real scary thing is he looked fine just before he dropped. That's the frightening mortifying image... Like one split second youre fine, next you could be dying. Like death has always freaked me out and this was just like frightening.

I seriously hope he can play football again because for me he is a wonderful footballer but I just don't think it will happen but he, hopefully now has his health and family.

I'm not normally an emotional person for people I've never met, but I did well up when my wife told me what was going on. Really upset me and I hope he will be ok. My favourite player of recent times.

So pleased he’s stable and praying for a full recovery. I wasn’t watching the game but still feel shaken by what’s happened - when the picture broke of him apparently conscious and awake on the stretcher I shed a little tear. Get well soon Christian ?

Another great Eriksen moment. Disappointing game but this was the only time I've ever watched a game at the Spurs local watch party.

Today has really brought into focus what is important and what is irrelevant. Couldn't care less now if Kane leaves and not bothered about the new manager. Just want Christian to get better.

I remember watching the coverage on Sky Sports News of our first game in the new stadium. Eriksen scored to put us 2 up and I went to bed happy.

Two hours later, I witnessed my Dad being taken out of his house on a stretcher by paramedics after he suffered a fatal heart attack.

The events from today brought all those bad memories back. Thankfully there was a better outcome this time round.
