The Bentancur tackle was superb. Didn't go through him (went around) and got the ball.

The Sky commentator should have the guts to tell Tuchel he was completely and utterly wrong.

very disappointed. we are at a stage with Conte where I expected we could assert some of our possession principles against the best teams but we didn't. we lucked out into a draw here, with 2 goals off illegal situations, a distinct lack of fluency in our patterns, a lot of technical difficulties in all kinds of actions. if we're aiming high, we have to set the standards high. a point at Stamford Bridge is great but nothing about this screams that we're at a level where we can be contenders. the occasional cup run is always there but wouldn't take this iteration of the team to take it in a final against Chelsea, Liverpool or City.
Spot on. People who scream we are title contenders need their heads checked. We're still far off, mentally and technically.

Chelsea are still very much superior than us. Tone the expectations down.

I reckon they will be our first choice.

I know a lot are saying the same, but I just can't see Conte doing it.

Seems to be Bentacur or Bissouma with Hojbjerg or Skipp (when fit)

I hope I'm wrong, as I would like to see us have those 2 in CM

Did he get the ball? I've watched it 5 or 6 times and think he takes the man every time.

Whilst I'm obviously chuffed we got a draw, the performance doesn't fill me with confidence. Conte needs to work out a way of giving us more control in games like this.
Years gone by pre Conte we would have been battered and badly. That has to fill you with confidence especially when you consider under Conte the number of late goals we get - Watford, Leicester, City, Chelsea. No matter how poor generally, we know we are one or two clear chances away from a draw or a win.

Also defensively I thought we were alright. Lloris hardly had anything to do really.

Surely the result suggests we are. We lose that game every time previously. Mark if a top side is the ability to grind it out and we did. The football against teams like the saints is when we should expect more free flowing, against top top sides we may have to grind it out like we have
the result suggests we scored as many goals as the opponent. the rest is all subjective. so let's agree to disagree. we have grinded out results in the past, it didn't mean we were ready to battle with them on the long run. it's always a judgement call and in the end this is just 90 minutes. also, last year we actually had very positive performances against City and Liverpool away so perhaps I'm being a prisoner of the moment (and of the last few years in general).

First goal, Benny played smart, was a very 50/50 situation. Second, yeah, he totally pulled the dude's hair but shit happens, man, chin up.

Title contenders find a way to get points regardless of performance. If City or Liverpool did that everyone would be screaming what great character to dig in until the end.

Our first goal was offside for me but fuck them
Was it? I don’t know all the rule changes, but it comes off the defender before it passes Richarlison and goes in… so similar to the champions league quarter final vs City and the old can’t be offside from a back pass… (this might be one of the rule changes where slight deflecting don’t count anymore?)
