I think you're overthinking it personally, a lot of points you brought up could be attributed to any other matches, for example we played Utd in a pre season a couple of years ago and tackles were flying everywhere, they beat us and we beat them at OT a few weeks later.

It's just 90 mins in a game played at a higher intensity and faster tempo which is something that's needed going into the City match.

Personally I'm not listening to any fan who wants to claim bragging rights over a friendly either...
Plus there is also a charitable element which should not be forgotten. I have a hunch that these games are almost considered as a show of good will from the three clubs to try and offset the ESL shenanigans, almost like community service.

Tackles flying everywhere is the problem, as it risks unnecessary injuries.

The result doesn't matter in reality, but it's difficult for the players to not let it matter at the time...even though they should be taking it relatively easy.

Tackles flying everywhere is a risk in every match, not just these matches.

In fact we've seen this playing a lower league side , how many times was our player's bought down against Colchester and MK Dons because they couldn't keep up with them for example?

I can't remember many flash points in the league matches last season when we played Chelsea and Arsenal either.

Actually, given the 1st game of the season is Man City, a couple of tricky friendlies could set us up quite nicely in terms of sharpness.

As long as we don't get turned over I'm looking forward to it. Ultimatelythe result doesn't matter but the psychology of getting smashed would not be good.

Weird to feel nervous about a friendly.

If the Spurs website's offering is as bad and buffery as the other friendlies not sure it's worth £8...

Part of that goes to charity, so it's not much for one game and there is that to it.
That's great, but I'm not gonna pay £8 to watch a friendly on a website that is notoriously bad at streaming matches.

Can anyone confirm - is it £8 per game, or do we get both the Chelsea and Arsenal games for our £8?
