That would be a great deal if true and comes through. They lack creativity in the centre and have replaced Drogba already with Torres.

I guess depends on who Real manage to get in the Summer, I think they would rather get Llorente or Agüero in their prime instead of Drogba.

I believe Athletico have an agreement where they won't sell to Real.

Can Chelsea spend this sort of money again? I thought they were going to have to balance the books at the end of the season due to the financial rules coming into place?

No way would Real accept that. They signed Kaka for close to 70m euros. Drogba's contact runs out at the end of next season. Chelsea would need to bid at least 50m plus Drogba.

 This won't happen. Though it wouldn't surprise me. Chelsea are getting desperate.

Even if UEFA had the balls to ban Chelsea from European competition does it really matter?

Chelsea would happily take winning the Premiership over being in the CL. Especially as they'd go straight back into the CL the season after as they could go back to balancing the books once they had secured their top 4 status.

The only way it could cause a problem would be if UEFA allowed the 5th place team to take their place in the CL and at least that club would have a chance to compete financially with the big spenders.

They are probably offering Drogba because he has that "special" relationship with Mourinho.

Kaka will be perfect for Chelsea and I can see Madrid selling since he's so injury prone.

They'll be even more desperate if Torres turns out to have been an even bigger waste of money than Shevchenko.

Torres is a great buy, a bit steep but it was January they will build a team around him in the summer. How old is the Drog? I think i'd take him or Anelka in the summer as i think we will still be another season at least away from being a big draw for the uber signing and one of those two would be an astute buy IMO and Drog and Anelka on their own up top are unplayable.
