The coefficient points really are ridiculous. There’s virtually no reward for being CL as opposed to the two lesser competitions. Roma ended with 23 points, Villarreal got to a CL semifinal and got 24 points. It’s a complete nonsense. Arsenal will likely end up with more points than us next season.

Yea the year we both got to the finals they got more/same points as us despite us being in the CL final

The coefficient points was the main reason to have taken the conference seriously

No it hurts us now as Arsenal have been hurt dropping to 18th. Had we won the conference we could have got into the top 10 (105 pts) We need a good season to maintain where we are now. In 4 years it drops off and if anything will be beneficial, as long as still in Europe.
Hurt us for four more years is more correct. We're lucky to be pot 2 this season and if we have any more bad seasons in the next four we can forget about pot 2 for a while.
But those five points are obviously better than none.

Yeah what I meant to say is it hasn’t hurt us now as we scraped into pot 2. We will really see it when the CL final gets wiped off.

Group stage starts September 6th and ends November 2nd. So that covers 9 weeks and there’s an international break September 24th. So basically 6 games to play in 7 free midweeks and there’s probably carabo rounds in there somewhere. With the WC next season is gonna be last man standing.

going to need a very good deep high quality squad then to deal with ammount of games being squeezed in before the WC

And 5 subs in PL. You really need 18 quality outfield players and a few fillers.

As long as we get ACM in the group stage that'll make my mates out there happy, they want revenge for last time and that they've never beaten us..

How does a another foreign player Perisic effect our CL quota , still signings to be made but are we near the full quota of foreign players.
With Winks probably on the way out our home grown numbers are shrinking.

Forster coming in should cover the HG issue with Winks.

There are likely to be a few non HG exits this summer (GLC, Bergwijn, Emerson and possibly more) , so Perisic’s non HG status shouldn’t be a problem. Rodon, who isn’t HG for CL, is likely to leave too.

Do we need to analyse the system. We just need to beat the teams in front of us. At some point you will meet a big team at the business end.
All Im wanting to see is good performances, to compete and get out the group. Then it’s show time.

I actually don't mind it. If the CL is worth significantly more it will only create a snowball effect where the big leagues run away in the national coefficients. If the CL determines the coefficients then you basically have a European Super League where leagues from Scotland, Portugal, Netherlands, etc will get pushed away more and more.
