Great news, let's hope he continues to improve and score goals from CB. We could really do with scoring more goals from set pieces.

NOtice as soon as he comes off, England blow a lead and Ibra runs riot. Got to give Ibra some credit though not a bad finish!

He wouldn't have scored the 2nd if that was caulker instead of shawcross.

He's given a good account of himself our lad.

As I said elsewhere that he made it to the international scene faster than Ledley; and now he certainly gains another point over the King by scoring on his England debut. What a kid.

IMO he looks better than Ledly did at the same age, certainly less error prone. Obviously Ledders developed into the beast he was and we all lived happily ever after, apart from his knees, so I have high hopes for Caulker.

Ledders didn't mature into the Superhero centre half we came to know until he spent that season chasing shadows in midfield under Pleat. Before that he looked to be playing a similar level to big Tony Gardener.

He was always a step up from Gardener imo, but yes the season in midfield did seem to teach him a lot about defending for some strange reason

How old was he that season? Sorry I'm a lazy bastard. There was one fame he had that he played a suicidal header, back to the keeper I think but he was way outside the box and I think we conceded I have no idea when it was or who it was against but it's one that sticks out. I guess he have to congratulate Pleaty for something then wheather by accident or not lol.

Cracking moment for him to score his first goal for England on his debut, and I thought overall he had a very decent game. He won't come up against many strikers in the world like Ibra (especially in the mood he was in last night), and he more than held his own. Good lad.
