Strange thing to say considering we have the youngest squad in the league and he'd probably get plenty of first team action with us/Pochettino!!!

Sounds like he just really liked what red bull offered as a club, and how they treated him. Shame he didn't even give us a chance though

His loss really

They are strange comments, but it sounds like Leipzig really pulled out all the stops and rolled out the red carpet for him. It's an interesting one though, because you feel that we should have the nous to do the same for every player we attempt to sign, even if we don't actually want them that much, just to cover our bases.

How are Dele Alli, Eric Dier, Harry Kane, Rose, Walker, Onomah, Winks and CCV getting on out on loan?

Point is if you're good enough Poch will play you!

"I believe here they (Leipzig) made the point clear I was going to be a vital part of the team, which I have shown against Cologne and [Borussia] Dortmund."

So he joined a team where he was going to play. I don't know much about the player but I doubt he'd be playing for us at the moment.

We can't buy all the young players and he hasn't said anything remotely bad about us so at a bit of a loss to what the point is.

I like the look of GKN and we wouldn't have got him if we'd signed Burke so, no worries.

it was the sensible move, leaves a PL move as the next option for him at the appropriate time.
That said I think he would have got considerable game time with us.

Leipzig have money burning a hole in their pocket, they noticed this kid is being tracked by big names and went into full 'we love you mode', we couldn't compete with that, no way would he be getting 90 minutes in the premier league with us right now. I like what he had to say, he's completely right about Chelsea and could probably see it would take too much time to break through into our starting 11. Type of guy we should have potentially moved for the year before last, but as the above post says, i'm more than happy with our squad and the business we did in the summer. He is probably on a fair wage at Leipzig as well, they were throwing money around this summer. We've got GKN and so far he looks to be exactly what we are after.

Obviously a lot smarter than most hyped young players. While you like them to have healthy self-belief, most of them are just plain delusional and/or going for the money. From what I've seen and read, Burke doesn't lack confidence. He just went for the best available balance between playing time and salary.

I'm sure he's aware that we're different to Chelski/City. But realistically, there are no guarantees for playing time here. If you want to realise you're potential, he's at exactly the age regular competitive games are absolutely essential.

If he's really done his homework on us he will also know that we have some very talented lads here who have been struggling for first team minutes (Onomah, Winks, Walker-Peters, CCV would all push for starting spots on a newly promoted Bumdesliga side). And that was before we bolstered the squad.

Who would be be competing with for playing time? Lamela, Eriksen, Dele, Son, GKN, Sissoko. Seems like a business decision to me. A good one.

Just praying we keep tabs on him. He'll be ready in a year or two to make real waves and stake a claim to a starting spot on a PL top four team.

I am probably going to get slated for this, but I am glad he has gone abroad.

Clearly in England Spurs would have been a better option, but you never know, with Chelsea, if he has the right attitude he could have been challenging Moses and got a chance. Although given Chelsea's record with youngsters probably not.

If Leipzig offered him first team chances in a foreign country he has to give it a go. The chance to learn a new culture (living and football terms) it is a great opportunity.

Not enough young British players are willing to do this and I think he should be praised. Yeah he rejected Spurs now, but if he makes it in the Bundesliga then he will be able to go anywhere he wants after that and as a first teamer.

It's easy to say it's about the money but if he doesn't make it, he still has a big fat contract to, probably, support him his whole life. Good on him!
