They're saying we are far apart :arghh:

I don't know what United were reportedly offering but if they come back we'll have a fight going into the last days.

Sporting need the money but are more of a rich class club than Benfica so may let the battle run to the wire.

70m? The current market rates are truly a disaster. What a bad window to finally decide to buy some players.

If we are looking at an average of £60mil per person, a rough spending of £180mil in total on Ndombele, GLC and Bruno is a great outlay IMHO.

Flogging some players out to keep the spending in check, this can definitely be the greatest window ever.

We have to do it to really challenge the title..

Why would we send anyone out there just to make an offer that's then refused? Surely we'd only be sending people when the deal is close and the nitty gritty needs to be ironed out.

Because the same people had finished not agreeing a deal with Betis, so moved on to not agreeing a deal with these guys.
Good job if you can get it I suppose.

However Imagine they met his agent as well as club though, and always easier to gauge in face-to-face meetings than by phone what it will take to get over the line.

We really are going to need to bite the bullet on a couple of players if we really do find it so hard to find anyone who will improve the squad. GLC and BF look like special talents.

Our squad was flogged to death last year, since Valentine's day we had an awful run of form in the league. We badly need some new blood and depth.

I'm assuming it's either Fernandes OR Lo Celso... I don't know who I'd rather!

Maybe Lo Celso because I've become so invested in him

This isn't that close then.

Looks like it will be the last week again. Let's keep our fingers crossed we get one or two of these sorted then.

I wouldnt say that’s totally unexpected. Surely we’re not going to turn up and provide exactly what they want in the first meeting

Turn up with a brown envelope, walk out the door with Fernandes and a free coffee mug.

Sky are reporting similar to the Standard that BF is an alternative to Lo Celso - no idea what to think anymore.

Sporting only paid about 9 million for him, and I don’t think there’s a sell on clause (could be wrong though), so in many ways this should be an easier deal

One thing to note.

Sporting lost money last year on potential outgoings.

Rui Patricio
Gelson Martins
William Carvaho

All went for fees much less than they wanted due to the fan violence at the academy.

So they will likely be looking to make up for that with this deal.

Sporting rejected a proposal from Tottenham by Bruno Fernandes. As RTP advanced firsthand, the English club sent an emissary to Lisbon to try to hire the Lions captain. However, the proposal was far from 70 million euros and so did not convince Frederico Varandas.
At this time there are other clubs interested in the player, which means that Bruno Fernandes can still leave Alvalade in the coming days.

Following Manchester United's alleged interest, Tottenham sent an emissary to Lisbon to try to sign the midfielder but Bruno Fernandes' proposal was far below € 70 million and was rejected at a meeting with SAD Leonina.

Sporting captain Bruno Fernandes continues to practice with the Leonina team preparing for the Super Cup match against Benfica on Sunday.

Let him see Sporting to a historic victory and leave?
