Using only players that have been on our books since they were young enough to play in our youth team, including those currently on loan, Spurs could field a starting XI of:

Archer

Fredericks Velkovic Ball Rose

Mason Bentaleb Carroll

Lennon Kane Townsend
That line up does not allow room for Pritchard. Apart from Ball there is no player there who in my view is not ready to start a Premiership game.

(As an aside the only ex-Spurs trainees who would get into that side are Button, Caulker and maybe Livermore.)

I wonder if any other Premiership club could currently field such a strong home grown eleven?

Lennon and Rose came from Leeds but take your point. Investment in youth is paying off

Would be interesting to see how they would do in a PL game - the midfield/attack, I think, would give good games to quite a few of the PL teams. Not sure about that defence/GK though.

I would have a punt on Sonupe instead of Lennon who if we are having strict rules :cautious: is not HG?

Lennon and Rose joined us when still young enough to play for our youth team, and count as homegrown for European competition purposes, so I have included them. Buy if Lennon was excluded Pritchard is a very passable alternative.

Agree. But stick Button and Caulker in there and it starts looking a whole lot more robust. Both players I felt should never have been sold.

But it is in any case encouraging that we have invested (at reasonable prices) in good young British defenders such as Walker, Dier and Davies.
