How can you say that goal means very little? It has to be one of the most meaningful goals ever to be scored by Spurs. I know it sucks that we failed to show up in the CL final, but that doesn't take anything away of how important it was for us to make it there in the first place.

I live in Guatemala, and as recent as two years ago or so people would make a weird face whenever I would tell them I supported spurs (they would think I was crazy for not supporting one of the big teams in the world, or they wouldn't even be aware of Spurs existence), but now it's not unusual for me to see some random person wearing a spurs shirt in the street, or as their team's shirt in their recreational football leagues. A big reason for that was Moura's hat trick, but not the only reason tbh.

Obviously it was amazing at the time and I enjoyed Madrid of course ( the only bad thing about my time out there was the actual game ) but finals are for winning. Especially against a team we play twice a season ( at least ) in our own league. Personally I didn’t think it was important to reach the final. Just means we’ll be one of them weird, unexpected finalists that are forgotten about in years to come.

As for fans wearing shirts in foreign countries? Mate, that means little to me to be honest! Although it’s nice when I see Tottenham shirts around the world and fans from other countries etc, it’s not important to me.

Gareth Bale was phenomenal at Spurs and that drifts from the memory a little with time. That goal against Inter was incredible, a real beast of a run and an almost impossible finish, at max speed, to top it off. We had already seen it in flashes, but that was the 'heads up' goal to the rest of football. He went up a couple of levels from that point and we were lucky to have him.

And in only a decade, you wish some top players coincided in the team together more. We're always one or two short. Should never have sold Bale :cautious:

Son's solo against Burnley,
(I am sure he actually gets faster each time I watch it!)

Lamela's Robona
(Love the perplexed look by Davies and co when it went in!)

Bale's against West ham
(Bale was obviously fowled but it wasn't given, he got asked for the ball and then sent that thunder bolt right into the net. Still gives me shivers!)

Sonny's goal against Burnley won it. I think recency bias has swung that.
