I'd say the biggest difference is that they're much more of a standout than others. For example, if you were asked who the biggest club in Spain was in terms of history and everything, you could argue both ways for Real Madrid and Barcelona. Same with England, Man United and Liverpool. Then you've got Italy with Juve, and the Milan clubs. But in Germany there really is no competitor for Bayern, and the fans are sure aware of this. Imagine supporting a team where no other fan in the country can really argue their team against yours :p
Exactly, I often say there isn't a bigger club than Bayern because in their own country its them against everyone else in the country because people either support their local team or Bayern
