Levy would need to pull thumb and get this done before shifting players but we all know that's not going to happen.

Let's just hope he's still available once we've managed some outgoings.

As others have said, he would be perfect for us.
We probs would have finished our window had we got rid of 6/7 but they’re still here . 2 weeks left to bring 3 in and get 7 out running out of time .

I agree but we're not as good as them so I'd prefer another VDV type for recovery

I think I prefer the idea of a bit of balance, he's got good ball playing and positioning skills which discounts the need for extreme pace. To each his own though

Frustrating. I imagine it didn’t help that two or three of the ones who would have been easiest to shift Ange seems to have decided to keep.

Was thinking before....

People often state what a waste of money Ndombele has been - it's true.

I imagine the club feel exactly the same and are worried that they won't make money back.

But that is surely 'cancelled out' by the fact we got these players for incredible fees.
- Bentancur
- Udogie
- Maddison
- Bissouma

All four of these we have ended up paying under market valuation, in fact some (Bentancur) have been absolute steals.

Then you add Solomon (free) Sarr (cheap) to the calculation and SURELY the club can cancel some players contracts and take a hit on them to ensure they get key players in?

Appreciate the info but it's disappointing to hear that a problem that occurs every season, is the problem. It's either ineptitude or it's not trying very hard because it's not the thing that is the most pressing on the agenda for the club. How many seasons in a row do you need before you anticipate something will be an issue and plan accordingly.

Hopefully a few players that didn't make the squad on Sunday are a bit more motivated to do their part to leave.

We just got over £100m for an ex-academy player and are refusing to spend on a decent replacement.

No way we're cancelling contracts.

We have basically zero incentive to cancel anyone’s contract until the ass end of the window. If someone comes in for them, even on a free, we save millions of pounds. If not and they want to be able to play before January, they are incentivized to negotiate with us a smaller percentage payout to get it done before the transfer deadline. Canceling contracts won’t help us bring in new players because it’s already the worst-case scenario we are trying to avoid.

We're generally so bad at getting rid of non-superstar players. Winks was a nice exception.

Thank god my expectations we're managed up front of not falling into the trap. New manager, new year, new'ish squad, same ole story.

Man I would've loved to have Laporte in this side for a steady head and someone to help coach.

We need to be more ruthless in getting rid of players, including letting them leave on a free when the wages are high.

Can’t see us getting 3 more in unless they are lined up and ready to go soon.
Sure thing! In transfers, timing matters a lot. Waiting until tomorrow could mean missing out on opportunities or having to change plans due to the fast-paced nature of the game.
