Hi guys, I know very little about how these manager contracts work but is it possible for AVB to just quit? I mean if a manager is not performing he gets sacked but if a manager feels that he's being hindered by the chairman can he just walk?

I'm not implying that Levy is hindering AVB (as I don't know what goes on behind closed doors) but I just wondered if it was possible for him to walk

Probably

Imagine working for Levy and Lewis.

Here's no money and we want CL.

Yeah it was much better before when it was mid-lower league places we were battling for.

It's a slow process. Just moved into a £50m+ training centre and have been trying to finalise the stadium issue. Levy didn't get a shovel out and do it by himself. It costs big money.

I would rather have these things in place which will secure better players for the next 50 years as opposed to putting it all back a decade and risk the money on unproven, over priced Brazilian strikers.

Of course he can walk but he won't be getting any compensation if he does.

He would be in breach of contract.

But then, managers get so much money nowadays I don' think he would bat an eyelid at any compensation we would squeeze out of him.

Anyways, he is too proud and professional to do something so daft. He has a point to prove with us and we are a slowly improving work in progress.

I reckon he will be with us for a good few years yet.

AVB said in the week that we wouldn't be signing anyone. He was prepared, why wasn't everyone else?

Struck me as a combination of a softener to the fans if the unlikely deals didn't come off, and an instruction from the Venerable Leader to try and stop selling clubs inflating their transfer fee demands.

He has no reason to walk, we are 4th in the league and Levy has brought in 7 players since he became our manager. AVB himself has stated we will not just buy for the sake of it, it has to be someone who is better than what we have.

Look at Willian and the price to Anzi, crazy money. You wish us to spent £35 million on a £20 million pound player and replicate this with others?
