Seems like we have offered him a contract then. Makes me kinda worried that he hasn't signed it. Please gareth, sign for one more season, just one and with our support you can go wherever you want. You know you would probably get our support even if you left this season but just give us one more.

Wouldn't worry too much. Doesn't say a new contact has been offered or, indeed, is being considered at this time. I'm sure one will be offered, after the end of the season and, hand on heart, I believe Bale will sign it. Everything I've read quoting him seems to suggest that he is happy to remain at this time.

He has definitely justified the pay rise. And hopefully like he has come out and said that the club has the same ambitions and directions that he likes. He knows the team will be built around him if he were to sign an extension so avb has all summer to build the team. If he was delaying signing it might put our summer transfers list down as I'm sure they would much rather play In a team with bale

Come on bale sign on the dotted line and let's make great things happen

If I were Bale, I'd been keen to see who AVB / Levy are looking to bring in during the summer before putting pen to paper. If they are as ambitious has they make out, then top dollar players will have to arrive in order to satisfy Bale that his aspirations can be achieved here.

I'm sure Bale would like to stay, but he's also hungry for silverware. If we add another load of Dempsey's and Holtby's to the squad then he'll be considering his future elsewhere.

Bale is at the level where he can influence where the team are going. He would be justified leaving if the club don't strengthen where we all need it knows it. For us to be challenging for top 4 with the lack of goals up top is quite amazing.

What's all this "stay one more year nonsense"? I hope he's here for a lot longer personally.

well I think we are being realistic. He can't stay here forever and win nothing, not with his ablity. He only has the one short career and he has the talent to win every major trophy at the very best teams. And unless Levy goes all Sheikh Mansour in the summer than we wont be winning the league or champions league anytime soon. A terrible truth but an honest one

Perhaps overly optimistic, but I do believe we could take a step forward (admittedly not without significant investment) and begin to challenge for honours and achieve a level "worthy of Gareth".

'Bale has a year left on his contract. If he doesn't renew at the end of this season then we all know what's going to happen. The Spuds are just a very average team without him. He's scored 20 of their 63 goals... their 2nd and 3rd top scorers are by far inferior and are going to be 31 yo next year!'

News to me. Hate when other fans' are so obnoxious and just pull random facts out of their arse regarding other players... If you're a football fan your knowledge should extent past your own team's 25 man squad.

If Bale doesnt sign the contract offered we should waste no time and sell. We need players who's hearts are in it. I truely believe though that Bale's in for the long run....but football is a funny old game and he might surprise us all either way

'Bale has a year left on his contract.

Someone corrected him. Further down

This is the best spurs era in sometime. They aren't going to do better than this we just need to surive this and they will be back to finishing 7th and 10th.

Ah the old "Spurs are a small club who think they're bigger than they are" argument in reverse. These lads are in for a big shock, if that's what they think. I'm sure they've been telling themselves this for the last 6 years too. Still makes a difference from this seasons one man team and a dodgy manager nonsense. Talking of which....

One man team? I don't think so: Proof (not my photo). Remember last season when Modric was our only world class player and we'd finish 8th this season once he and VDV (bonus departure) left. Or when Berbatov and Keane left? If Bale leaves we'd just go and sign someone else, maybe not Bale's quality but good enough
