The article says this is amateur football though, so I'm not sure how it would translate to a professional, or even semi-pro. Then again, the amateur football leagues I played in were still governed by FA rules. In fact, someone told me that the 5 and 7 a-side leagues I played in were too and that any cards from one would carry over to the other. Not sure how true that was, nor did I let that stop me. 
I've heard of a few nasty things happening like that in amateur football, where players have lost their nut and gone to town on a ref or another player. Never actually seen anything myself but I did know of a guy in my league that got banned for waiting after a game for another player and beating the granny out of him. Some people take this shit way too seriously.

Looks like he's been banned completely. The only reason is because of public pressure- they don't see how ridiculous it was to not ban him immediately.To be fair she apologized for causing it.

Yep. We just got the video they had months ago and it is even worse than originally thought. Ray Rice should be in jail.
He apparently did as a youth in Uruguay. The ref was shut up.
