It looks like Australian number 10 type midfielder Tom Rogic will sign for Reading today. Mentioned this lad in Spurs Chat as a possible target a while back. He is tall, rangy and tends to surge straight through the middle being a decent goalscorer for the Central Coast Mariners of the A League. Feel that he can offer a bit of midfield class to a very pedestrian Reading outfit, he is a good athlete who runs and shields the ball very well. Hope he does well.

Very good passer from what i've seen, and good with his feet, good composure etc.

Also I reckon Rojas will be the next talent to leave the A-League if he keeps up current form.

True....Rojas is doing very well with Victory. He is even smaller than Lennon :) I'd like to see him be tested in the EPL....back up to Aaron?

Anyone know how that young keepers doing, Mathew Ryan?, he seemed to do well ob his trial with us. I though maybe it was a case of keeping tabs on him for the future.

Matt Ryan leaves Oz this week for a 10 day trial with Glasgow Rangers.....they are not allowed to buy players til September but want a look ...ex Mariners coach McKinna is friends with MCcoist. People here don't think Ryan should go....It would be good for Tottenham to take him....Cuddicini has gone and I would imagine Gomes will go eventually too. Was at the Western Sydney v Mariners match on Sunday......Ryan kept a clean sheet

Just read that they are both staying here in Australia for now. They play for the top side and although I can see them both heading for Europe the move has to be the right one. Quite a few ex-EPL / Scottish league aussies have warned them against making the wrong move....Craig Moore Robbie Slater and Mark Bosnic were very outspoken especially on the prospect of Ryan going to Rangers. They also thought that because Reading will be in the relegation dog fight Rogic might not get the opportunity to play the attacking style he likes. The A League seems to have stepped up somewhat this season...there are 9 decent sides and Sydney Fc who even with Del Piero are struggling. Aussie football fans have even started singing...have a look at this club Western Sydney Wanderers who only came into the A League this season

They are learning (y)

Wanderers took a bit to get going but are doing well now, btw didn't we had Matt Ryan on trial in pre season?

Yeah, I'd like to see us sign him, but I think work permit issues would be a problem, maybe we could Standard Liege to sign him then sell him to us in 6 months :sneaky:
