He probably means Villa can do without it, the state they're in.

They don't have a big squad...

Whos fault is that? Villa Park 43,000 capacity, ex Champions of Europe, good support. It's an absolute joke to see what they are/have become.

Idiotic comments. Its the greatest domestic cup competition in the world. The one we could do without is The Capital One!

Since the Premier League isn't technically part of the Football League any more, why are the clubs still in the Football League Cup? They should get rid of that League 1/2 cup competition (name escapes me) and have the Football League Cup for Championship, League 1 and 2 only.

It needs a re-vamp no doubt

Personally I would have the League Cup finish in December, a final on Boxing Day for example

The FA Cup I would then have as a midweek tournament with no replays, this would free up weekends for league matches meaning the league finishes earlier giving players more time to prep and recover for international tournaments.

I would make the FA Cup final the last game of the English domestic season again, with KO at 3pm on a Saturday and the semis would not be at Wembley

I don't agree with him, but I do think the FA cup should get a CL place. Shake things up a bit.

Really? No thanks. Imagine working your bollocks off all season to finish 4th, just to get knocked out the CL because Wigan won the FA cup.

Just drop the league cup.

I can't believe it's 22 years since we last won the thing, seems like yesterday!

Agreed. And the fact that they are one of the most prolific winners of the FA Cup themselves

You got some statistical evidence to back that up?

well when you have the "qualify for th CL but don't actually win anything" and the "stay in the PL at all costs" cups available what else do you need....

@Kendall hit the nail on the head with their poor squad which is crazy also considering they spent a bit of money before lambert.

If one had to go then it would have to be the capital one cupbut the fa cup is still great if just for the non league clubs involvement and i would love to win it again.
