Got a little bit of ITK on Bellerin (and this probably goes for many modern footballers) from someone who worked at the club. He said that when Bellerin first broke through he was a good lad, focused and very committed to his own development. Then, when Barcelona started showing a bit of interest, it coincided with changing his agent/PR team who told him that he needed to pay more attention to his image and visibility on social media, and that would earn him the big money move to Barca. From that moment on he completely changed, stopped putting as much effort in improving as a player and started getting spotted at every social event.
I know that this is nothing earth-shattering but it just highlights the amount of scummy people and gold diggers advising these young impressionable players. They've made Bellerin believe that his image was more important than what he did on the pitch and that in order to be successful you need to 'look the part'. Imagine if this was KWP, we'd be spitting feathers. A sad reflection on the modern game, even if this is Arsenal.
He started out very promising and looked to have an even better career than he's currently having at arsenal, just a shame people close to him have to stick their noses in and fuck it up for him.
