Or someone with a good head on their shoulders who turns down more money and a bigger club for more gametime which is really a much better career move when you’re 18yrs old.
I agree with this but… if Ange wanted him in now that would suggest he was going to get game time with us this season!

No it doesn’t. It suggests Ange wanted to take advantage of signing a possible future star now if possible but no way Nusa would be getting game time at LW ahead of Son and Werner.

Next season when we are back in Europe sure but this season when we are out of all the cups absolutely not.

Those mentioning Rowe; I can’t agree. Looking at his stats and more footage of him it’s more and more clear he’s another player who’s more of an inside forward rather than an actual winger and he isn’t a great dribbler etc.

He looks a good talent but once again if we stuck him in our system he’d get the ball very wide and wouldn’t be able to take people on etc. He wants to play in narrower positions imo.

I’d argue he’d have just as much game time with us than he will do with Brentford, if he’s talent shines through.

We need to be looking for a Son replacement soon, there’s no denying Sons finishing capabilities but he can go 2/3 games now with making little impact.

Arguably wouldn’t it have been more beneficial to his career playing for a manager that wants you, playing football that suits your style, playing with better players and playing for a team that has been consistently in Europe?

I don’t buy the argument he’s chosen Brentford for playing time, we obviously aren’t that keen to pay what Brugge want and what Brentford are willing to pay.

Pedro Neto in the summer

He plays on the right wing though? By all accounts we are targeting a Sonny succession plan. We’re already well stocked on the right with Kulu/Johnson. And no I don’t think Kulu will eventually be played at number 10.

No we don't, news is news, as itk is itk.

It doesn't have to be positive all the time and expecting it to be so will lead to the itk's posting less because some on here love the fucking drama.
Going by the Dragusin thread and this one, if I were an itk, I'd certainly think twice about posting something that wasn't all sunshine and rainbows because too many in here aren't mature enough to deal with it.

Personally, I'd rather have the insight into what goes on, good or bad, than freak out and the slightest hint of negativity.
To be fair he said it could be his best itk yet so must be something positive. Could be just about anything though. This one was always a bonus so our window didn't depend on it. We've had a good window if it closes now anyway.

Because €30m must be quite a substantial chunk of Brentford's transfer funding.......I wouldn't imagine Brentford could afford to take a lot of the risks that other teams can (having said that, I haven't looked at their accounts lately, so perhaps they can and I'm underestimating their financial position).

*edit: Just taken a quick peep at their financials, and in 2023 FY they had a turnover of ~£140m with a profit of ~£30m. So, depends how you look at it - €30m is a huge chunk of their turnover, but less than last FYs profit (assuming all else stays the same).
Spending the Toney money in advance.

We obviously feel his value isn't that high for potential. Even infinite money city paid 22m euros for alvarez and 14.5m for echeverri. There's only so much you can value potential at

For exactly the same reason the likes of Bale and Dele rejected higher profile clubs to join us.

They backed themselves to play week in week out, and they were proved right.

Fact is, we are not an attractive club for up and coming players right now, hell, just look at the number of our own academy players who have left because there is no pathway to the first team.

If we cannot convince our own youngsters who are already here, it's easy to see why a player like Nusa would back himself to play elsewhere in the Premier League right now rather than little but a possibility with us in the future.

He turned Chelsea down in the summer, I'd assume for exactly the same reason.

If you are young player, with the world at your feet: we are simply not the club for you.

It does seem to changing, there does seem to be a shift in approach in terms of recruitment but it is yet to be seen if that change in approach is replicated in selection for the first team.
I think if we are paying up to £30m for him, he’ll get an opportunity ahead our academy players

This is it for me. He’s obviously not ready for the step up to a big club yet. He’s looking for a stepping stone, which is fair enough.

Brentford is actually a sensible move for him especially if they’ve promised he’ll play. In a couple of years he’ll be at City or Madrid or someone like that.
Brentford’s biggest ever sales are to Villa and West Ham aren’t they. Much more likely to get an eventual top tier move from us.
