Oh well. Smacks of someone convinced they’re going to tear it up in the PL and then agitate for a big ticket move. Not really the kind of mindset we’re looking for, IMHO.
This is it for me. He’s obviously not ready for the step up to a big club yet. He’s looking for a stepping stone, which is fair enough.

Brentford is actually a sensible move for him especially if they’ve promised he’ll play. In a couple of years he’ll be at City or Madrid or someone like that.

we always miss out because we won't compete

Like the way BM lost out to us on Dragusin?

That sort of non competing?

If we lose out on Nusa then I am not too disappointed. I would like to think that any potential signing can see what Ange is trying to build, after all Madders, Johnson, Vic and Deragusin did, they all knew that Ange is building a squad and not a starting eleven.

Plenty more fish in the sea.

Quality attacking players seems to be a tricky market, I do think we need to target a higher level of player, someone who makes more of an immediate impact.
Yes. My own feeling was that he'd be nice to have - loaned back or another loan - but always one more for the future for us. Maybe he just feels the same and would prefer a move to club where he can get a chance to start more regularly in the here and now when he's not quite the finished article.

This was always a gravy move for me so quite relaxed either way.

I'd be gutted if he Chelsea over us (if they were in for him), but no one really can blame the player for chosing first team football at Brentford than being Son's understudy for 2 or 3 years.

Well I hope we will be targetting Johan Bakayoko then. There arent many wide players around that are good at dribbling, scoring and assisting so I hope we actually make a move for one.
I actually think there are quite a lot of very exciting young WF talents out there atm between the 18-20 year range. Just a question of if we will pay the price for them. That for me is the big question. PSV are supposedly looking for a very big fee for Bakayoko so not sure he is a reality for us but in general. I don’t think we necessarily have to worry too much about missing out on Nusa, as much as he would have been an excellent acquisition, as long as we are prepared to pay the money for other similar players.

Huge shame as I think he'd had got more starts than he realises.

Could easily see Nusa Son Kulusevski starting or a Nusa Son Johnson type set up if BJ comes good

Fact is, we are not an attractive club for up and coming players right now, hell, just look at the number of our own academy players who have left because there is no pathway to the first team.

If we cannot convince our own youngsters who are already here, it's easy to see why a player like Nusa would back himself to play elsewhere in the Premier League right now rather than little but a possibility with us in the future.
Mate, I'm not the most knowledgeable about the academy but can you name me all of these academy players who have left because there's no pathway?

And that's also completely ignoring all of the work Paratici has put in to the academy over the past couple of years.

Just have to hope the news WLB can’t drop yet is something extremely positive.
No we don't, news is news, as itk is itk.

It doesn't have to be positive all the time and expecting it to be so will lead to the itk's posting less because some on here love the fucking drama.
Going by the Dragusin thread and this one, if I were an itk, I'd certainly think twice about posting something that wasn't all sunshine and rainbows because too many in here aren't mature enough to deal with it.

Personally, I'd rather have the insight into what goes on, good or bad, than freak out and the slightest hint of negativity.

Of course, I was merely trying to look on a positive note. This place really isn’t as bad as Iv seen it at present.

The Club line now feels like one of damage limitation and fan appeasement. "Concerns about player being ready" etc when we've heard in this thread that Ange was wanting this.

Ultimately what concerns me is that if we cannot blood youngsters like Nusa but also cannot buy the finished article (Williams and Kvara) then where the hell does that leave us?

If we want a top quality winger we have to either nurture a talent or spend big.

Disappointing knew this. I think we’re done this window, hope we don’t regret not signing him

Or someone with a good head on their shoulders who turns down more money and a bigger club for more gametime which is really a much better career move when you’re 18yrs old.
