So am I but the family and agent have said otherwise. Brugge fed to us that nusa has agreed the deal and they too but the camp are saying otherwise. That’s why I said it’s odd what Brugge are doing.
I’ve been trying to get the mins on this all morning and it’s typically fluctuating gonna wait then come back on later.

Surprised Brentford would take this risk, because £30m is a huge risk for them. We can afford it if he doesn’t pan out but I’m not sure Brentford are able to risk it unless they’re banking on the Toney money in the summer

Brentford have been dropping like a stone and have the worst form in the league and only 6 above relegation. £30m for a youngster that you won't have for the next 6 months is a huge risk for the club and the player. If I'm Nusa I'm not agreeing to that. Why would I until I know they are safe if I'm only joining in 6 months any way

I’ll start by saying I really want Nusa because I do feel we need a couple of cracks at the “Son long term replacement” so we need to start looking.

On the other hand - we know our scouting is vastly improved, we know we have financial stability, and I believe Nusa would pick us above Brentford given equal deals as there is a place for him in our attack. The logical conclusion is that either Brentford have bid more than we think he’s worth (in which case, we can’t overspend for the sake of it, especially when it’s not an immediate need) or there is a term we can’t accept (eg a release clause).

If we can go get him great, if not there will be other opportunities to get top young talent in the summer as it wasn’t really for this season anyway.

(I would still be very disappointed though!)
Mabye it’s as simple as Nusa will get far more game time right now at Brentford so that’s a better move for him at this stage of his career, if he sets the world on fire then the big clubs will come calling after a few seasons anyway and he’s only 18 so plenty of time.

The fact that Fab didn't go "here we go" indicates that it's not done yet. Thanks WLB for the itk, let's see how it develops.

Bare in mind with Brentford, they did bid big for Brennan Johnson and PSV’s Bakayoko in the summer - so they’re obviously looking for a winger and ready to spend
