I think everyone is in agreement that we need one if not two dedicated wingers in summer. That’s not really being debated, it’s more that when we come to replace Gio, who is likely off in summer, then getting a number 10 who is versatile and can also play wide gives more options. So essentially what you are adding is 1 or 2 wingers plus a no 10 who can also play wide. It just gives us more options in attack and also allows Gio’s replacement to play a more prominent role then just being Maddison’s back up.

Nobody is saying that getting a versatile 10 should be the primary target for the wing position. I think most would be against that.

I understand that but my thoughts are that we already have that player in Kulusevski. He can play #10 and winger if required, hell he could probably play an 8 too.
If we assume Gio, Hojbjerg, Sessegnon and Gil leave in the summer and Werner is bought as a back up option that leaves us needing a LW, RW and a DMC with Deki competing for #10.

It should also be noted that ITK and the press have strongly linked us to:

Baena, Gibbs-White, Eze, Gudmunsson, Sudakov.

All essentially no.10s who can play wide - specifically right footed and probably off the left in contrast to Kulu.

We've also been linked to that classic all out dribbler profile in Williams, Neto, Nusa, Illing-Junior.

So it appears we're after one of each profile assuming Gio leaves, otherwise just the dribbler it seems.

I do think we lack a bit of creativity in our forward line - outside of Maddison I don't think we have anybody really who can pick out a pass with any regularity so I can see why we might be considering a Bernardo Silva type player as well as a pacey winger who can beat a player.

Absolutely. I think we were hoping Deki would be that player again, but he’s just not. Too predictable unfortunately. Definitely need someone like that.

I dont think I have seen a thing on Antonio Nusa in three pages!
