Conte is clearly a good manager but I think hiring a former Chelsea boss almost suggests we are going backwards (in following the route of former appointments) and would be a retrograde step.

What's the point in hiring a manager for one season which is how long it would last. He always throws his toys out the pram when he doesn't get his own way and we all know who makes the decisions at Spurs so a divorce could even come half way through the season. Then it's back to square one again. We desperately need somebody who's going to stay at least as long Poch did to build an excellent squad of players to take us forward. We are stuck with Levy like it or not as ENIC aren't going any for a number of years so the manager has to be firm but be able to work with.

Conte quit both Juventus and Chelsea for not having it his way. Levy won't budge for anyone so he's out after a season if hired...

So you wouldn't take Tuchel if he became available today?

Conte is an excellent manager who has won the league in England and Italy, if we can get him, we should get him.

Don't think it would be a good match to us.

Having said that, I like Conte, but he's not the "attacking-manager type", which is what Levy wants by now. Conte is more in the "big-name" manager category, like Jose was.

Sky Sports reporting that we are not interested in Conte as we are looking for someone with a ‘softer personality’. In other words, another Yes man for Levy!

People said that about Mourinho, yet he was outwardly happy about working with him. Same as quite a few.

Not sure where the myth comes from.
