With the arrival of Richarlison on Friday it is becoming clear that the Italian head coach is building a very different Tottenham Hotspur. It's no coincidence that Antonio Conte's tougher version of Tottenham Hotspur is going to have a very different look to it next season. Spurs wore a flaky label for years, often exposed as being weak mentally and opposition managers would often rely on that, Sir Alex Ferguson most famously simply stating 'Lads it's Tottenham' in that half-time team talk. Mauricio Pochettino brought more steel to the north London club but even he admitted after a Champions League match against Juventus that his team could do with knowing more about the dark arts of football.

That performance from Juve was a disgrace. They stamped on Son and crippled Dier.
This wasn't football - more like rugby.

Now we have var, there is the hope that incidents like these can be clamped down on. In fact I struggle to remember Son being bullied too much last season apart from with Holding, who was rightly sent off. And Son became the top scorer.

For those games where the ref is bought and var asleep, sure there is room for some real time retribution - we already have Romero and hojbjerg for this. It worries me that Conte can write off bryan gil for his size, when there is every reason to think this type of player - small, skilful and fast - will become more influential in the coming years.

I don't think you have enough facts to determine Conte has 'written off' Gil. You don't know what he thinks of Gils long term chances, just that he wasn't ready last season. He may not be ready still, but I wouldn't focus on that and start worrying too much. We're obviously in good hands.

I refer you to what conte had to say after the jan window. He praised Gil but spoke of players needing to be strong and physical in the prem and then spoke of mistakes made in building the structure of this side. All consistent with the football.london OP.
My worry is more for Son, who isn't an alpha blood and steel player either. I worry that the last time the club spent money upfront, Bale was sold at the close of the window. We've not got the whole picture yet.

There is no way that Son will be sold. Do you actually think there's a chance of that? Conte would lose his mind.

Especially where the club are going next week!
It's going to be crazy in Korea and the PR from that trip will bring a lot of attention to the club. That week or so will be massive for us.
Sonny is going nowhere soon- he only signed his contract last autumn
