Perhaps we'll have a shot at Lemar if United decide to keep Martial?

That way both players and Clubs possibly connected here.

Can't see either happening. ITK a few weeks ago said Lemar would go to the Arse before he came to us. Martial also is never going to happen. Highly unlikely they'd sell to us- far too many complicating factors

Well we're obviously trying to sign a game changer, nobody thinks its going to be easy.

Don't just focus on Martial is my advice.

So... we genuinely are interested in Martial but there's someone else of the same sort who is being considered? It seems we were 'close' to getting Balde before Juve told him they wanted him. So we are looking at a third, apparently gettable wide forward of that quality?

Either:
It was never about Martial

Or

The Martial deal is contingent upon Man U bringing in someone else and we should be focusing on that aspect bc Martial isn't coming otherwise.

yeah, the second option.
It may happen, but only if they get the one they want in that position. Perisic/Lemar

More itk in the itk thread says.... no chance

Bear in mind that people get information from different sources, and some of those sources are behind others. We were told that this game changer was someone there was previously no chance of.

Also worth noting that AtlantaYid saying "no chance" could easily just be opinion.

If he's potentially being offered to top 4 clubs, I can genuinely see Arsenal getting hold of him. They'll offer bigger wages and Wenger might be an added attraction for Martial. Not sure City need him, or that Utd would deal with them. Who knows about Liverpool

I'll believe it when I see it. If it was anyone other than Manchester United then maybe...

I'm not sure a 15 minute sub appearance will change Mourinho/Woodward's minds on whether or not to sell him.

There are far more complications involved in a transfer like this than a cameo goal away at Swansea when already 3-0 up.

IMO.

Furthermore strong rumour Manu in for Draxler In Manchester Evening News and various daily papers..
They can only have 25 in their squad so mabe ther is a lot more to this than meets the eye

The thing is, Hertyid has a decent ITK record, so it can't be completely dismissed. Id imagine its early stages though (35.6%) :sneaky:

For this to happen, three things would have to happen:
  1. United have to be willing to sell him, even to a Prem rival
  2. Levy has to be willing to pay what United want
  3. Martial has to choose us over every other club willing to pay what United want
Even if Herty is pretty confident on point 1, points 2 and 3 feel very up in the air to me, and even if his agents are giving us positive signs I'm sure they are doing the same to a dozen other clubs across Europe. We have a few advantages (Poch, Hugo, a Martial-shaped hole in the squad) and one major disadvantage (wages). To me it still feels like a longshot.
