Levy is not a serious person anymore.I don't so much have a problem not getting him if we didn't think the deal was right, it's more so the fucking about when we're fairly desperate for major ins/outs.
For context:
- We've been pursuing Fati for ages (backed up by ITK), since at least April (and yes, we didn't have a manager then...)
- At some stage yesterday the deal was "agreed" and flights/medicals were being arranged
- Levy then jumped in and pulled the plug as he wasn't happy with the terms of the deal
- If it got that far, you'd assume Ange was happy with it and you'd also presume that we cooled our interest on other targets
- We've had since at least April to ask whether they'd include an option or not, that wasn't a surprise
- It all stinks of Levy playing games and looking for a deal
- There's two days left and once again, Levy will be caught *snigger* short
If we get Johnson and a CB and this was just a "punt" that didn't work then fair enough. If this was our main attempt to give Ange the attacking players he needs for this season then we've fucked up yet again.
And the Oscar for best written post based on a Levy manuscript, goes to ... "So, if we follow the usual pattern" ! by @Oscar22 !!So, if we follow the usual pattern…
Tomorrow, nothing will happen for the first hours, but we’ll get info that we still fully expect at least two in.
About midday-2pm we’ll start hearing how we’re progressing on Johnson, and Forest just need a bit of time to wrap up their deals on replacements.
Later in the afternoon, we’ll get news articles that we’re actually still a way apart on the fee for Johnson and it isn’t as close as thought.
Toward the evening, some news articles will break linking us to a new, as yet unnamed in the window player who would actually be a significant improvement to the squad and will be someone who we wouldn’t feel likely to get.
A bit later it will be eye emojis, and probably some Twitter accounts getting us excited. Meanwhile Johnson will seem a bit on hold.
Friday will roll round, and there will be much excitement around the top quality player we’re now linked to.
About 8pm we’ll either sign Johnson, or, hear definitive news that we arent sure about the asking price, are still far apart and it will become clear that deal is t happening.
Finally, as the clock ticks down, the big name player we get linked to tomorrow will start to fizzle, and eventually about half an hour after the window closes we will get info that it just couldn’t be completed in time, we were close, but there are things we can’t disclose now… but that there is a plan in place for January. We’ll also hear at this point that the main issue with bringing people in was not being able to clear the space in the squad.
This will all cause much buzz and excitement, with the big name being enough to make a large majority forget we still haven’t got decent CB backup.
Finally, it’ll be Levy’s fault.
Ahh to be a Spurs fan eh.
As I've said countless times Jorge Mendes is a snake and there's no point trying to do deals where he is heavily involved. I'm not saying it's his fault this time around, as I don't know but it's yet another deal where he has been front and centre of negotiation that has gone tits up.
Fuck but that’s funnyI think I might give this place a swerve today: I had about 2 hours sleep and I can already tell my posts are grouchy. Sorry.
If I need to stamp anything, please can someone email me?

I feel bad for ITK.
This is how many of us assume the window is going to end up, even with ITK to the contrary. We just assume that efforts will be made, and they will frequently fall short.
so when people say “wait until the window closes!” This is how we expect the window to close…
He is spot on we are THFC why should we bring up, nurture him, pay him more money then majority players and then say goodbye in June. Since when THFC building players to strengthen other clubs. Ppl need to grow up and stop bring up agenda of hating Levy and start think rationally what is best for THFC.Hahahahaha like fuck has he
Thing which baffles me is how did it get to the point of booking a medical if we didn’t like the terms. I just can’t get my head round that. After one phone call surely Barca would have said no beuno when asked about an option and we should have left the negotiations.Would genuinely love to know what DL did. Would also like to see what deal Brighton have. I may have it wrong but if Barca didn’t want to lose him then a club offering him game time for no risk of losing him is a better bet from a “seller” perspective.
Anti-DL or not, surely you can all see that?
Think you've missed the point @THFCSPURS19 was making. Tbh, without being Daniel Levy or one of the people negotiating you’re never going to know how close it all actually was.
Indeed. Quite funny to have received that reply in light of my post yesterday though.Think you've missed the point @THFCSPURS19 was making. He was commenting about wspur saying that George Bannister has been right about almost everything the past few years
Yes that reason is called Felix and it’s not about footballing ability it’s about signing a big name player to replace Dembele. It’s also about Mendes getting two fat pay checks. For what it’s worth Xavi doesn’t want Fati to go and he’s not keen on Felix. If Barcelona fans could read Tottenham forums, they would be having a serious laugh at some of the meltdowns over not signing Ansu Fati. They're keen to push him out for a reason...
Idk I find it a bit of an odd move. He won’t be first choice ahead of Mitoma and even if it’s not the full contract the wages will still be big for Brighton. Still pretty good rotation option for them.
