Barca and all that but 7 goals and 4 assists in 1380 minutes (12 starts, 24 sub apps) in the league last season according to transfermarkt.
That's an impressive per 90 record. As a starter, he produced 4 goals, 1 ass in 12 starts.

Think he's exciting for sure.

I hope it was a peachy one

The injury and Barca willing to sell has me nervous tbh.

That's the paranoia of being a spurs fan I guess. On loan definitely reduces the risk though.
Barca have also been doing everything in their power the last few years to try and sell the brilliant Frenkie De Jong, so I wouldnt be too worried about that.

This is why Barca and Mendes want to sell.

Mendes looks after both players...

Which would then have a knock on for Atleticos pursuit of hojberg as getting rid of Felix should free up funds for PEH.
Modern transfers are bloody complicated and real dominoes affect in action

I just did the obligatory YouTube research. One interesting take from the highlight BEFORE his injury - He was not that kind of Bale/Adama type of player as I imagined. I actually think that most of the things that he was good at (e.g. finishing/ first touch/ vision for pass/ close control of the ball) would still be there after injury

reports will be up and down like any transfer so take news with a pinch. we wouldn't be pursuing it if the player didn't want to come. will try update as i get it
Not doubting or questioning your info but we've had 2 or 3 fees agreed for players only for the player to turn is down in recent windows. Kounde I believe was one.

I'm guessing Barca don't believe the potential to be a top player is there anymore hence trying to move him on. Loan with and option would be worth it however.

He seems more like the kind of transfer chelsea pull off than us, let’s see what happens.

Chelsea seem to be exploring some over avenues currently (inc. Cole Palmer), but it's definitely one you could see them circling back round to if nothing comes off. I imagine we sense this and as such are trying to move fast.

Not bothered if it’s a loan or permanent, if he’s a failure or successful.

Crazy to think he was only 18 at the time of this vid. Gives you just some idea of how good he was and how much raw ability he has. Like you say he was always a more nuanced player which is why there is still potential there. Needs help developing tho.

I must say it is a little crazy that we are going for two WF and not looking at any CF be it an established one even a younger option like Orban or Marcos Leonardo. I get that Orban was probably over priced in the end and i know we have Veliz but he is clearly not a player we are going to see much of this season. I'm just concerned about going through the season with Son and Richy as our CF's. Our front line does need work in general tho so i guess its about the options available.
Do you not think Fati could be an option as a central striker in certain circumstances? I know he's lost a yard but he's such a clinical finisher.

Apologies if this doesn't copy across well.

It's barcas top journalist reporting on the news that fati has asked to leave and spurs are currently in the lead for his signature but.....

I presume the but is because his Dad seems to prefer a loan to sevilla.

Barca signed him from Sevilla as a youngster.

Sevilla can't afford the wages so Barca would have to contribute a high percentage, I don't see this as a realistic option because Barca need the room to sign Felix.

It must be because Ange sees Son as a potential striker - in the Kyogo mold - quick, two-footed, clinical

no ange wants both talks going on for both players atm crazy time.
Really interesting. Both Fati and Johnson are good finishers, as is Son. I can see an evolution of Ange’s front line where there is a nominal number 9 but all 3 front players interchange. As long as we still maintain the width, any of those forward options would work in any of the front 3 spots.

I’m just going to quote myself if you don’t mind.
I mentioned in a previous post that long term I think he becomes like a second striker/shadow striker who drifts off the shoulder of a more physical CF who is drawing in the defenders. Yesterday when we swapped to more of a 442/424 in the second half could work well for him just sitting off Richy. Personally I don't think he has the physicality to play as a false 9 by himself in the PL. Maybe in a few years possibly. It would take some adapting tho. Essentially you don't want defenders to be focussing on him too much.
Essentially in order to make the most of his skill set you want to allow him to drift in between the lines and ghosting into the box. When in the youth team he did play CF for a bit but i wouldn’t be trying to play him there personally.

My only concern with that is that Son hasn't looked clinical for a while now.
He seems to be dithering and second guessing himself too much recently.
In the last game he had a few chances to get a shot away but fucked about too much.
I'm hoping he gets his mojo back but it's beginning to become a concern for me.

Would love this signing. I remember when he first broke onto the scene he was considered the heir to Messi and untouchable.
Would be really exciting and a bit of superstar status while still very young.

I think you right and there probably aren't any strikers we really like available this summer coupled with how much we only just spent on Richy. I get it of course but Im still concerned by what i've been seeing thus far from Richy. I guess ultimately we think there are more attractive options on the wing this window do decided to focus there as ether way it will need to be looked at at some point soon. I hope this approach pays off.
I agree with your view and looking at it simplistically we should sign a proven goalscoring striker however I think Ange sees the squad puzzle both short and long-term hence our need for a winger and possibly another versatile attacker in Johnson, give Richy a full season as he isn't going anywhere right now and is a £60mil asset then re-assess in Jan and next summer, especially as we aren't in Europe and only in FA Cup we should be ok for a good league finish with e.g. Richy, Son, Johnson and Veliz rotating in ST spot this season but they key is also to have wingers who can create a good amount of chances for whoever is playing as striker.

From what I've read too he's decently hardworking but most importantly modest, which only helps. Doesn't seem like he is a diva of any sorts and would come in and cause issues. Always something to consider

100%, I mentioned a few times last season that his form was concerning. I hope I haven't jumped the gun but I think we've seen the best of Son and need to think about a replacement sooner rather than later. I think that's why I don't mind Fati, because although he's a gamble, if it works, we have a ready made replacement. I hope we can secure Fati & Johnson and I would then play Son as the #9 until we bring someone in. A front three of Fati, Son & Johnson has the potential to be electric.
