Apologies if this doesn't copy across well.

It's barcas top journalist reporting on the news that fati has asked to leave and spurs are currently in the lead for his signature but.....

I presume the but is because his Dad seems to prefer a loan to sevilla.

He used to be a top source, knows fuck all these days

Spurs stepping up Fati talks | Johnson, Bakayoko interest remains

Tottenham are stepping up talks over a potential loan for Ansu Fati at Barcelona but remain in the race for Nottingham Forest striker Brennan Johnson and PSV Eindhoven winger Johan Bakayoko.

Spurs are lining up deals for their three forward targets before seeing which one emerges as the best option ahead of Friday’s transfer deadline.

However, the club are currently three players over the 25-man requirement for the Premier League squad list so outgoings remain their priority.

There are also other factors to consider and obstacles to overcome with all three of the potential deals for a new versatile forward.

Johnson is the top target but they must weigh up potential expenditure of more than £40m on a player who would not assured a first-team place right away.

With Fati, a loan would only suit Barcelona from a Financial Fair Play standpoint if all of his significant wages are covered and, for a permanent deal, they value him at around £30m.

The barca spin has begun, no way he's asked to leave this is about Barca controlling the narrative to their fans about why they have to sell him

Also says that his dad prefers him to go on loan to Sevilla...

If we really want him, we will get him

Rakitic is on 125k€ a week, Sevilla's highest paid player
Fati is currently on 230k a week

If previous reports were true that, Barca wants us to take full salary, there's no chance Sevilla does that.
Unless his father wants his son to take a pay cut and move to Sevilla...as long as we have a firm loan offer, we should get him

...so sign a striker? It's not rocket science.
A proven striker who can play centrally and produce good goal output should be the absolute top priority right now, not an LW...

This season is going to end up seriously disappointing if those two are our options to play striker.

and what is etc? Dane Scarlett? He looked completely off the pace vs Fulham.
I think it’ll be because Ange will be trying to balance the short term and long terms needs of the squad.

Also his style of play doesn’t need an out and out goalscorer so to speak it needs someone who can link play and finish the chances created.

As Ange said a few times we’ve not created enough chances for Richy which is probably why we are looking at a winger.

But I agree we need a striker also. Johnson & Fati would be good as Johnson can play as ST or RW.

Was expecting them to want more then €30 mil.

Also im assuming Bakayoko would be the back up option to Johnson considering he pretty much has only played RW.

It def sounds like that from this report but I reckon there is also quite a lot of guesswork going on with so little time before the window closes and new info coming out all the time.

Can’t imagine we’ll have gone this far with the Johnson deal to now only sign Fati.
I think it’s definitely going to be Johnson with Fati increasingly likely.
Would be an amazing double signing. 😊

Fati likes Anges' vision and that's what I was told earlier today. he's keen to come if a deals struck .

Barça and agent press for Ansu to accept Tottenham.

But the '10' has always reiterated that he would prefer a 'top' team and looks askance at Atlético and Liverpool, options that would only be activated if Carrasco/Salah left for Saudi Arabia.

Hope your right WLB🙏

Very encouraging if it happens. Regardless of if one likes him or not its important that if he comes its because he likes what we are trying to build rather then him just being pushed out of Barca.

There's a lot to discuss here and rightly so but at the end of the day:

He's a 20 year old who has returned 35 G/A in 97 La Liga and UCL matches, wild!

Love the updates thanks.

I'd be surprised if ANY footballer on the planet wouldn't like Ange's vision tbh. Whether it sways it either way or not is another thing.

Maddison into Ansu Fati giving me very good feels though.

Fantastic to hear as the players attitude and wanting to join and be part of the vision is so important.

Just hope Fati will not be our only further attacking signing, it needs to be E.g. Fati & Johnson.
