It will come as no surprise to Tottenham fans that Pape Matar Sarr has been nominated for the Confederation Africaine de Football (CAF) Player of the Year award for 2023. It really has been some year for the Spurs midfielder.

Hope Ange can keep them all happy once Bentancur gets back fully. Hopefully a proper run in the FA Cup means more game time.

CL next season will certainly help, but it seems likely that Hojbjerg will move on to get regular starts, if the right opportunity presents itself.

I can see us starting next season with Bissouma (6) + Bentancur (8) + Maddison (10), Sarr getting plenty of game time as back-up for Bissouma & Bentancur, and with Hojbjerg & Lo Celso replaced by younger players who will be more up for the challenge of competing to earn playing time. If Skipp remains, his playing time is likely to be quite limited, as he'll be no higher up the pecking order than 5th choice for a CM role.
I'd have no particular objections to us retaining Hojbjerg or Lo Celso, but if they actively seek moves then it makes perfect sense to replace them with young prospects who are on lower wages and will (in the short term) be content to join as squad players.

Tbh Starr, bents and Biss will share 2 positions long run. We still need another couple of players depending on Donely, dorrington, Phillips.
