There should be no reason to slander Ally Gold. He is a good bloke, proper Spurs fan. Yes, he works in a media environment whose business model requires a few articles a day, designed to drive traffic to a web site. He is not professing to be a crack investigative journalist uncovering political corruption. He follows Spurs, he asks questions, and he offers his opinions. Its not complicated.

As I said, he comes across as a good bloke, just getting by, like the rest of us. If anyone does not like it - then don't follow him on social media, or click on his articles.

He also has some pretty good contacts within the club and in order to keep those, he has to toe the line. There will be things he's told to hold back on and other things that are OK for general consumption. What Ally shares is what the club are happy to have out there and I'm sure he has plenty of other information that he keeps under wraps to help the club.

Strangely enough, the forum and the podcast are so distinct that it's a wonder how it is such a mess.

Last time I had a look at their transfer window page, there was a guy absolutely insistent that ENIC pay people to go on there and argue with him.

It's not a lot different from here to tell you the truth, I hate the fonts and the layout but at least they don't ban you inexplicably ?

I've heard Ally say on a number of occasions he's not 'ITK' in the strictest sense of the phrase, so it's wrong for people to automatically assume he is, but that he's just not very good at it.

What he does have which sets him apart from most other journos is a love for THFC and a real talent for being completely honest and genuine with his observations, without being sensationalist or putting out 'clickbait'.

Yeah I should say I was a bit harsh in saying “ he makes out “ I think it’s other people perception that he’s massively in the loop. Maybe it’s a fair assumption as he’s now the biggest Spurs journo. My point was really if you compare to say Paul Joyce with Liverpool and Ornstein at Arsenal the amount of real exclusive content is very small. The majority of content is just logical informed opinion. But good luck to him I’ve actually meet him couple times at Spurs and clearly very nice guy. With such a following now I’d imagine a more high profile job is just round the corner and wish him all the best.
