And I completely agree that its an exciting time and the right time to get rid of average/good players and replace them with higher class players. Talk of holding type midfielders like carrick and diarra will go on all summer but I have seen a few videos of sandro playing and a holding midfielder is something I dont believe we need.

We have palacios and huddlestone already here and sandro coming in. Sandro looks to me to be in the mould of mascherano only more athletic and pushes forward sometimes. He likes to challenge and pass, get the ball and pass it on to someone more creative. He also has a good pass on him.

Im sure we will see alot of sandro next season because provided we beat our opponents in the champions league qualifying round then we will have lots of games to play and the full squad used.

My prediction for next season that towards the end, sandro will be a hard player to leave out and huddlestone and palacios will be fighting for the other spot.

My opinion on other signings and sales is-

Sell
Assou-Ekotto- he is too unreliable and does silly things

Keane- im sorry to say it but we need another top top striker and someone needs to be sold to accomidate him. we can get decent money in 5-7m for him. Pav will be more suited to europe and i can see him scoring a few in the champs league.

Also clear out jenas, o'hara and bentley.

TOTAL SALE VALUE OF 25M-30M

Buy
Dzeko is my choice for top striker

A solid left back. Someone whos first game is defence and then attack. BAE cannot defend

Krasic from CSKA Moscow- Fantastic attacking midfielder. He is in the shape of pavel nedved, he can play anywhere in midfield or up front. With krasic we could play a top six of

DZEKO

KRASIC MODRIC

BALE PALACIOS HUDDLESTONE/SANDRO

This would be perfect for the champions league.

Anyway thats my rant over. Attached is a video of sandro playing for his ex club!!

You started off well but the BAE can't defend comment is way off the mark. The problem with having Bentley is keeping two very good right wingers happy is very difficult. HR tried accomodating both of them when he first joined and it didn't work. Lennon was excellent while Bentley was poor. Bentley now seems happy and has been ok while Lennon has been injured, we should only sell if he really wants to leave.

Jenas has been pushed down the pecking order but if he wants to stay then I'm happy for us to keep him too.

In fact if Keane, O'Hara, Dos Santos or Pav all wanted to stay I'd keep them all. We've just had our best ever Premiership season and we've achieved this by having great team spirit, players giving their all and appearing to really care. I hope we don't ruin this by bringing in half a squad of guys who'll "take us to the next level."

A top striker is our only priority but if we can't find one then I'm happy enough to keep our current guys together. We don't know what Pav is capable of after a full-preseason and playing a part from the beginning anyway.

I think it would be silly to think that our only priority is a top striker. Yes we were very good this season, probably the best season we have had for about 15+ years but should we have lost to man city then the season would have looked very different to all of us.

I certainly wouldnt keep all the players if they wanted to stay. They weigh down the wage bill and their inclusion in the team could be the difference between a win and a draw.

If we can sell 4 or 5 decent players to buy 2 top top players with an expense of £10m in total then we have to do it if we are to stand a chance in the champions league and turn in on in the premership the upcoming weekend.

With all said I only think we need 3 top players to repeat the same performance in the premership and leave our stamp in europe

We don't need major transfer activity the key is to let this squad develop. I'd be happy with an addition of a world class striker and back up to Gomes.

All this talk of Joe Cole, Carrick and the rest please NO NO NO. We need to blood our own youth players IE Bostock and co. follow Barcelona's lead.

I just don't understand why some people don't see how good BAE has been this year. He has certainly had a couple of dodgy games when returning from injury/out of position, and makes the odd mistake but I have been so impressed with his defending and distribution and his decision-making has improved no end.

I remember watching him at Villa and thinking that was one of the best away LB performances I've seen. The Villa fans thought so too.

You should stop making predictions and giving advice on squad management because you suck.

But if I take enough shots I'll get it right one day, I call it the Jermain Defoe approach:wink:

Not sure that, given the new rules, that ditching four decent homegrown players is a good idea. I don't believe that BAE "can't defend" either. Cultured player.

Choking at the BAE can't defend line. I take it you're basing this on his poor performance at LEFT BACK against Utd and not the one in his natural position where he had Johnson in his pocket all night long. There's not many better defensively and his attacking game seems to have improved since Bale has been playing at left wing.

I can't recall many players getting the better of Benny this season.

Disco Benni is recognised as a very accomplished full back. He would wlk into practically any premiership side excluding the top 2

Na keep benny he's a good player we wont get much better. Get a world class striker in we did need another pacy option but we have the emergence of Bale now so not much needed. Sell the dead wood and buy Klinsmann when he was in his prime!

i really hate how people slate disco: he is quality, seriously.

our right back situation is a bit dodgy, yes i know vedran is not a bad player per se, but could be drastically improved upon. With who? I dunno, i'm no scout, but there are better right backs out there, i know that much. saying that, i'd like to see younes have a shot at making it his position.

defo need a superstriker though, maybe a squad standard LM.

Woodgate fit. Bring Hutton & Giovani back. Addition of Sandro is promising. Dream list Milner and a world class striker who can play lone.

Its a difficult balance but we must only look at Arsenal to see where sentimentality gets you...

We do want our young players to develop but ultimately if we can improve on them we should. We might never get another chance to consolidate on being in the top 4.

Great point - We must do everything we can to fulfil a task that will be incredibly difficult, consolidating a Champions League Spot.

Its ours now and we must fight hard to keep it. This is our moment we MUST seize it. We must treat this as the end of the era of big club immitation. We must act quickly and have the faith that this is the new Era of a MASSIVE Footbal Club!

OP - Name two better left backs than BAE plying in the premier league. You won't be able to. Ludicrous suggestion to sell him. Name a player that doesn't do stupid things once in a while. Get real.
