It’s a shame as I think this kid is gonna go on to be an excellent player. But as others have said, it’s not a priority position for us currently, and we can even sign the players we need for our priority positions.

Scott moving to Bournemouth is probably good news for us, as the odds they get relegated in the next two or three years and he goes back on the market are pretty high…

Yeah I was thinking prying him from Bournemouth would be much easier than Wolves in my opinion

Not sure tbh. Wolves are embroiled in FFP issues, lost a bunch of their best players and I think there's a solid chance Lopetegui walks if they don't invest in the squad soon.

Bournemouth have ambotious new owners, a very highly rated young coach, are investing in the team and have made some interesting signings.

I'd say they're clubs heading in opposite directions and Wolves are the one more likely to go down next season. I actually put £20 on it as they look a real mess.

Would have quite liked him if we could have moved PEH out. Hopefully we get Veiga in that scenario.

Whilst Alex Scott looks like a talent, he is only going to progress and develop to meet his potential if he has sustained first team football - that is something he wouldn't get at Spurs (or any of the top half PL clubs), and consequently he wouldn't develop into the same player in the same way.
It's always easy to look at a player and think "if only we'd bought him two years ago when we had the chance", but if we had bought him then the chances are he wouldn't have developed into the same player......which is why you let another team develop them, and then pay a premium down the line.

I gotta be honest I've never seen him play but the thought of a lifelong spurs fan who is really young, really talented and highly rated and ontop of that a flair player is appealing.

It will be interesting to see how he gets on.

Yeah I listened to a very interesting podcast documentary about Brentford's rise to success over the past 4-5 years and their DoF guy is absolutely obsessed with 'pathways'. When they make signings they make absolutely sure each player has a clear pathway to first team minutes and a natural position in the team. It's all planned out strategically and in some cases years in advance

We've been SO shit at this in the past few years with so many signings blocked from first team football by poor squad planning or managers who aren't fully behind the signings in the first place.

I think signing Scott could've easily been another case of this unless Ange was fully convinced he was instantly ready to make the jump to the first 11.

I hope Ange lives up to the billing and spreads the minutes around, uses the subs properly and gives the youngsters a proper chance.

He was the young player of the year in the championship. Box to box midfielder, 19 years old. Plays for Bristol City.

Spurs fan as well.

Or buy now and loan somewhere?

Whilst that is an option, it's a bit like having a substitute teacher at school - it's never the same as being in a settled team where you are playing every week, know which relationships to build, and are looking to the future.

Spot on mate. Bournemouth have been making fantastic moves since January and I’m confident they’ll make big strides in the league this season.

Would have them in the same bracket as Brighton and Brentford now, when it comes to being very well run.

Their ruthless appointment of Andoni Iraola as manager at the expense of a well-performing Gary O Neill seriously reminds me of when Southampton moved on Nigel Adkins to bring in Pochettino.

No way of being certain, but I’m pretty confident that we won’t be getting Alex Scott off them on the cheap anytime soon.

I can understand passing on him as we don’t have space currently but if we end up getting Kessié I will be very very disappointed.
