Thanks for making my point for me, doing the research I can't be arsed to do.

It's every match thread, every week. It's the same culprits. And then we get the same (@Bobbins) insistence that people are confusing legitimate criticism with expressions of fury. We aren't. We have no difficulty telling the difference at all, because we all post criticism too, instead of posting rage. When we play badly, I'm as harsh as the next civil person, but I don't spit hate at our own players. I don't spit hate at other clubs' fans and players either, but I try to avoid getting involved in that, rather different debate.

The division here is between three groups of people. 1. the rage-babies who splatter this spitting rage at out players, all over every match thread. 2. The people who insist that "it's OK" to behave like that, because it's "reasonable frustration". 3. Normal, sane people who don't enjoy being exposed to toxic characters.

It is not OK to behave like that, to vent fury and hate in a public place - and this is a public place.

People are hiding behind their usernames. It's very conspicuous that the small minority of us who use our real names never do this. It's not a coincidence, which is why I used the word "coward" in an earlier post. It's people who think it's OK to behave on the internet in ways they might get arrested for, if they did it in person and took responsibility for the way they act.

When people cannot exert enough self-control to suppress this degree of panic, hate and howling rage online, then they are trolls: they are not good people. They are cowards, hiding behind pseudonyms so they can vent their socially unacceptable level of anger all over the rest of us.

My tactic has long been to avoid the match threads during games. But when I come on here after a 4-1 away win, after we have overcome the loss of our best player to win in a canter, and find that they're still at it, an hour or more after the final whistle, it's not OK. It's trolling.

It's actually a privately owned and moderated forum for your information first of all.

Secondly, you seem like a really angry person and it feels like you probably haven't really met a truly "hate-filled" person before if you think that people here criticising a football performance are hiding behind anonymity to be cowards and if you think any of what people say on here could have them arrested anywhere outside of your little puritan social justice, trial by internet bubble then you are incredibly delusional, take that garbage to twitter.

The only person spewing hatred here was you, you launched the personal attacks, you spewed sexism and now you are being hyperbolic and hypocritical I am seeing an incredible amount of self-projection from you.

I now just come on match day threads for the arguing and raging. It's like our own little version of Arsenal Fan TV. Highly entertaining.

How about having two match day threads - one for that, and one for people who actually want to discuss football?

Ok, here are my posts from this thread, please kindly point out to me which ones are "vicious, hate-filled filth and rage." again, I will wait for you to show me.

I mean, so far the only rant here that has been hate-filled has been yours, calling me a "fuckwit" sexism towards men, calling me a coward (ironic considering I actually have the guts to put my opinion out there, rightly or wrongly, yet you yourself admit to avoiding match day threads) seems like a lot of self-projection tbh.

Anyway, here are my posts.

"And just as I feared after we got dumped out of the CL we start poorly and are all over the place."

"So opponents can climb all over Kane whenever they want but if Kane touches anybody then it's a foul?"
"Bournemouth making us look average, really average."
"Incredibly frustrating to watch so far, we just don't look up for it at all."
"Kane is injured, we really are fucked now honestly. Alli needs benching as well, he has been piss poor.

Liverpool drop points, we have a chance to go third and gain some ground and this is how we play? Champions league exit or not the workrate and attitude has been fucking attrocious, us fans have to get up for these games so what's the players excuse?"

(the above statement was accurate when I wrote it, we were playing very poorly.)

"And just as I say Dele needs benching and has been piss poor, he scores for the first time in ages LOL, fucking hell, you have to love football."

"Mike Dean...Spurs fan."
"We will win this, going for a 3-1, think we have been much better since the goal, desperate to get Toby back in this side though, he provides calm"
"Would like to see Moura on, think his pace will really stretch them, hope we get so see him earlier rather than later."
"Been much better this half, sticking with my prediction of 3-1. So much for the stat of us not coming from behind after the other team scores first."
I mean I could go on and on David, but please, feel free to point out to me where the "Vicious hate-filled filth and rage" is.

Seriously!!

Eriksen, ali, lamela, son and moura - these 5 can create havoc in the absence of kane with their unpredictable movement
To be honest it’ll probably work in our favour if akane is out long time. Teams won’t know how to set up against us.

I think Sky could do with him. Anyone watching Sky today think the commentary was pants? I hate it when commentators simply quote statistics althrough the commentary - Id prefer a bit of insight.
Stats and history lessons that bare absolutely no relevance to the match. I dont fkin care how they got on in 1938.
And stop showing constant shots of the managers, chairman, ball boys and the bench etc while the game is in play as well while you're at it. We all know who is who and unless there's something worthwhile looking at we really don't give a shit.
Oh and now I'm on a roll, BT, the reason the score and time is traditionally on the top of the screen is because from most camera angles thats the bit that includes the crowd so it doesnt matter if a portion of that is blocked. Dont cover the fkin pitch up by putting on the bottom corner. Back up top please ya fkin numpties.

Translation: "I can behave how I want and you can either put up with it or piss off".

What a disappointing attitude from the very person who brought up toxicity, moaned about it and started this entire conversation. Using your own logic, you too can ignore people. But it was YOU who first quoted my sarcastic post and started whining about toxicity. YOU. Think about that.

One rule for you, another for everyone else I guess. Sad.

Wait, what? I didn't say I can "Behave how I want" there are quite clearly rules on this forum.

I said that people are free to take on my opinions or not, none of what I said is "Toxic" or "hate filled" it was just an opinion on a football match, I am not making personal threats to anybody, I am not saying anything that would be considered to be hateful, at worst you can call what I said slightly kneejerk or emotional during the match but nobody has to read it, they can mute my posts and ignore me forever if they don't wish to read opposing opinions.

Everyone is capable of making their own safe spaces these days, I have no problem with people doing so, I never said people can piss off, I said that people have the choice to read what I say in the same way they have the choice not to.

I also didn't bring up toxicity, I responded to someone saying this thread was a toxic place because people have criticisms during a live football match, I then said that those people are commenting on the football, not other people, and if anything is toxic it's the people who go out of there way to highlight others and criticise them for not supporting the team the way they do and throwing up "I told you so" every single time their opinion is validated, that to me serves no other purpose than to try and provoke and start arguments.

I can ignore people and I should, I already stated that it probably makes me just as bad for highlighting the behaviour as all I have done since then is argue about the way people are behaving rather than about the fucking football match which is ALL I WANTED TO TALK ABOUT IN THE FIRST PLACE.

But then someone called David had me down as a coward and vile and hate filled whilst also spewing sexist bullshit and ranting and raving like a mad man when all I ever did in this thread was make a few comments on a football match, now I have him calling me a troll and how people would get arrested for saying this sort of thing in real life.

What he actually means is "My opinion is right and if I disagree with you or the way you support MY football club then it makes you a hate filled bigot and you should be arrested because it's hate speech to say that Dele was piss poor and how we might be fucked with Kane being injured"

I wonder how many years I will get for that?

Can't we all just be friends?

Very happy for the win, also I love that the away fans were loud enough for Sonny to hear his song. That guys deserves all the praise he can get.

I'm not wasting my time with eight paragraphs of utter drivel that attempt to revise when is in black and white in the pages past. I've said all that needs to be said. I'll simply address your latest lie buried therein, namely that you never said anything about toxicity and just wanted to talk football. Here's the post you made to me that kicked off this entire conversation:-

This thread becomes toxic because certain posters are more focused on having digs at people because of their reaction during the game and handing out an ”I told you so” than actually discussing our play at that moment.

I honestly don't believe many here have even been to a football match because they must cry tears of sadness if they do.

We might as well just lock the match threads like I said earlier because it will never change, people will always have a reaction during a game because football is an emotion-based sport and it seems some people want to desperately remove that element because it hurts their feelings.

Thank god these people don't police football grounds, they would be soulless.

Your post to me, the first to allege toxicity and the post you made because you perceived by tongue in cheek post as a personal slight and one in which you basically implied that I have never been to a game (I'm actually a season ticket holder) to try and stoke tension. When you got a brief response from me and others to it you simply wouldn't let it go, just like now with this ridiculous ramble to try and win an internet argument hours later. But somehow according to you it's everyone else's fault and they brought up toxicity, etc? Oh please. If there's one thing I can't stand in a conversation it's someone who deliberately lies about what what they've said and tries to move the goalposts. I'm simply not prepared to waste time on conversations like that.

Great win
Above the moaning dippers
Hope Kane’s ok

Share the post I was replying to, I will wait, I haven’t lied about anything or moved any goalposts, that response was to post which was talking about why these threads are toxic.

I implied many must have not been to games because at football matches everyone reacts to what happens on the pitch immediately, both positively and negatively and yet when people do it in a live match thread they act surprised?

I am also not trying to win anything, I have spent numerous pages arguing with people who are now just essentially flinging personal attacks.

Anybody can read through this exchange and come to their own opinion without you having to mold it for them by calling me a liar.
