imo we have bergwijn, who has been able to perform the same role when needed as a ball progressing player. he's just not forcefed the ball like adama is

I like Bergwijn, and I also believe he can improve quite a bit with Nuno’s coaching and some more confidence. He is nowhere near Traore’s raw pace or strength though.

I'm totally torn on him.
I mean, what he does, he does brilliantly but I could see myself becoming rather frustrated at him pretty quickly.
As equally useless as he can be terrifying.

This. Imagine if he makes the change that Lukaku did and adds end product to his game. He'd be one of the best players in the world.

At the asking price he's currently worth what's being asked. If he starts scoring and assisting regularly then he becomes an elite £100m+ player

The problem is he had a few seasons under this manager to make that change and nothing happened. Obviously I’d love for him to find it here but what would be different?

Interesting one as we just played them and if he had a final ball then we’d have probably lost. By a few.

What Nuno thinks he can coach into him after 4 years and still not being able to hit a barn door. I’ve no idea.

Please hope we dont sign Adama.... His passing is not even championship standard and have the end product of a league 2 player

Stats like that are always extremely misleading.

Aaron Lennon was one of the best at the time at beating his man and getting to the byline only to put in a shit cross. When you're like Traore or Lennon and so good at skinning your man only to put in a shit cross 90% of the time, then it really skews the stats. I can't be arsed to look, but how many assists has Traore had with all those crosses? Not too many i'd imagine.

Usually you put that down to 1 of 2 things, 1. the strikers on the end of those crosses aren't converting them which is unlikely as for the most part he had Jiminez and Jota in the box, or 2. They just aren't good crosses.

Adama is just another extremely quick player who will get to the byline all day, but has no end product.

EDIT: For context the post I was quoting was in regards to a stat about him putting over 400 crosses into the box and comparing to Moura who had something like 100 ish

Posted this last night in the ITK thread.

Glad it didn't come back to bite me in the arse, but in all honesty as much as he had the ball and beat our men, I was never really worried, even when he went through 1 on 1 I was sure he'd miss, in actual fact I out loud as he was through he was going to miss the target so surprised Hugo had to make a good save.

Don't get me wrong he's not awful but i'd be 100% against us signing him. He's frustrating to watch as an opposition fan so I know he'd drive me mad if he was our player.

Have to admit though, the blokes an absolute unit. On par with Lukaku in terms of pure strength and power. Abnormal athlete, just not technically gifted. Put it this way, if you were to half his power and pace you'd have a league 1 player IMO.

IF we can teach him how to pass, he's one of the best ball carriers in the PL.

If Chubbs Peterson can teach Happy Gilmore how to putt.... surely we can teach Adam how to pass.

Nuno failed for 4 years. What’s changed?

He’s basically like if Aaron Lennon were a competitive body builder. Lennon was the player that first made me fall in love with Spurs.

just watching the highlights back. He put 2 or 3 on a platter for his teammates today. Jimenez looked a step slow and they put a couple decent chances from top of the box over the bar.

At the moment our backup RW is Jack Clarke. If we’re talking the same price for a guy like Madueke or a guy like Traore I think I go Traore.

He’d be an amazing super sub. I’d sign him in an instant, but …. 2 goals and 2 assists in an entire season as a WF is not a £40M player.

I cannot believe he claims he does no weights and has that physique from foootball training and press-ups.

Obviously if we sign I'd support him I actually like him but I don't think his end product is of a level we need.
