Given what’s happened this week with injuries and suspensions and then who’s going away in January we’d do very well to achieve top 5, big ask.
yeah but we said we'd do well to achieve top 5 at the start of the season anyway.

Money in the bank and Ange is just that. We've got the right man in charge. We will continue to surprise a lot of opposition fans with how competitive we will still be

It’s weird, other clubs do exist…

Our injury woes are bad, and yes it’s weakened us a lot… but United are still beatable by basically anyone, and are only scraping points against dross atm. Chelsea just beat us 4-1 and yet everything they showed in that game still led me to believing they won’t achieve anything at all this season. Liverpool just drew with Luton and lost to Toulouse. City have been turned over by Wolves, Arsenal aren’t having the luck they had last season.

Totally get we’re weaker now, but we’ve made a great start and it’s put us in a position that no one saw us reaching. We will still pick up points, and we will still be up there challenging. Our injuries and suspensions doesn’t mean that everyone else in the league suddenly gets maximum points in every single game.

A lot of our competitors have easier games this weekend which may, MAY see us drop down. If we get something tomorrow, and can just maintain at least touching distance to the top four, we get our players back in Jan, and there’s no reason we can’t have a really strong second half of the season.

I had us down as 8th but hopefully scraping into Europe with 7th after the last few seasons. We’ve been excellent. Give the rebuild time and stop assuming that the seasons over, we’re doomed and everyone else is going to suddenly become brilliant.

I really think Ange is going to find a way to rally the troops. We’ll be back to being overlooked which might work in our favour. We have a drop in talent for sure but we might see some gems emerge that we’ve not seen much of yet this season. I’m still pretty optimistic about our chances.

I just can’t see is picking up many points with playing such a high line with Dier. No offence to the lad but he’s just not quick enough for this system.

Top 5 will get us CL and will be a great accomplishment in Ange’s first season.

Is that confirmed? I thought it was contingent on the performance of English clubs in Europe this season.
It's contingent on England finishing in top two of the country coefficients for UEFA. Most believe it is a given as England has finished in the top 2, 4 of the past 5 years.

Ref the above. Good article on the Athletic yesterday. Good website to check is Kassiesa.net
Choose European football….then country co efficients.
gives up to date details of which countries have most European points as the season goes on.
At the moment England are 8th. The total number of points is divided by the number of clubs any country has in euro competition.. We should catch up as long as our teams progress as expected.
Man Utd doing us no favours at the moment.

It does but if we drop countless points by January it may already be too late.
But it won't. Was it too late when we finished fourth under Conte? Go on a decent run and you never know. Nobody knows what will happen. The players who come in might step up for all we know. We may sign a couple of players who make the difference like Kulu and Bentancur did.

This defeatist attitude needs to end and why many others laugh at us and use Spursy as a joke.

Honestly I’m not hugely disappointed in the grand scheme of things as this is a process and there were bounds to be bumps in the road…however reading Ornstein say the Kane money has been spent and there’s next to no money in the pot for January seriously boils my blood. Ange is utterly doomed if we are always one injury away from the likes of Dier and Hojbjerg. We need two CBs in January, a replacement for Hojbjerg and another forward player to challenge Kulusevski. Levy giving Ange next to no funds in January is simply unacceptable and dishonest. This club is a money making machine. Back the manager or he’s doomed ffs.

I don’t expect us to be in the top 4 by time January comes.
So we’re going to need to finish the season how we started it.
