Without Europe and Carabao Cup, injuries permitting, I don't see why top four shouldn't be the target this season. Obviously you aim for as high as possible, but top four at least. Only City, Liverpool and Arsenal should realistically be finishing above us. Feel like Newcastle will burn out with a good Champions League run. I'd expect to give the FA Cup a proper go too. Again, because of the lack of other games.

Agree with this, but so much depends on the draw. We've had some horrible 3rd round ties in the past and could easily get Arsenal away or City away.

I reckon its written in the stars that we get Liverpool at home.....

I dont think we can contend with city for the title in the long run, but I'd say 2nd is def a possibility with how we're playing
If 2nd is within reach let's just go all the way for the ultimate won. Either 1st of 3rd/4th. I don't want to be the bridesmaid again. I rather not get invited.

Also had to reschedule City away at the beginning of last season, which we in the end lost 2-4. Definitely slightly better this season, although we had a good start last time as well.

Believe this is our best since the double season.

Our final league position hinges on how many games the first choice back 5 miss. If its hardly any then it will be top 4

The bulk of the points in a season should come at home against non top 6 sides.

In our first 8 fixtures we’ve only had Sheff U drop into that category.

I’m not bothered about a comparison against last season the big thing for me, about today, was getting 3 points done.

how many times have we seen us beat a top team, or need a win to go top or above a rival for us to fuck it up against a perceived lesser team…. It always happens.

today it didn’t.

so far, so fucking good.

To be honest I am just enjoying the ride. I think City will end up winning it, but we should be well in the fight for 2nd.
