Lol half the seats are already filled with guys who‘s daddy’s are paying them to be there. There isn’t a shortage of seats in F1. There’s a shortage of cash to make the teams viable. Diluting that by adding another team to compete for sponsors and prize money isn’t going to help the situation, it’s going to exacerbate it.Except he is ready to go invest in his team unlike Haas & has a manufacturer F1 has been desperate for. He’s being boxed out because he’d be more likely to upset the apple cart than Haas who refuses to put a fucking dollar into that team. I guarantee they’d probably veto him buying Haas. But also Haas shouldn’t sell to him. F1 should have more seats to give more opportunities to talented drivers.
The truth is it’s a barely functioning sport that is getting by on past glories. It’s been that way for decades now. It’s uncompetitive, and it’s boring. They’ve tried shaking it up more times than I can remember in the last 30 years, but it always ends up as a procession behind one dominant team, or a race to see who finishes third. Cars have less and less sponsors on them from the sports heyday in the 80s and 90s. There’s not enough money in the sport to sustain the development needed to compete with the big teams.
Throwing another team at the sport won’t do a damn thing to change any of that.
The whole thing needs to be torn up and started from scratch imo.
