It is only a 'worrying trend' if it is unfixable. Which it isnt.

Football 365 did an interesting piece on the best 10 PL clubs to have supported in the last 10 years. Spurs came 7th, acknowledging we’d be higher if we had won a trophy, which is fair enough imo. But what was interesting was the write up.
Next time you hear a fan of the likes of Newcastle, West Ham, Everton or Villa complain about spurs being in the big 6, it’s worth referencing the stats used here. Spurs have more PL points than Man U or Chelsea in that period, and there is a 175 point gap between Chelsea in 6th and West Ham in 7th. Only one of those clubs has won a trophy more recently than us as well, and that was a Mickey Mouse one you can only win if you aren’t in the harder ones we got knocked out of. Full article below

I like that show, they always seem so positive about what teams are doing and seem to love watching and analysing the football. Maybe it’s because Mustoe and Earle (and Warnock in this case) weren’t top footballers and so don’t get the easy pundit gigs, but they really do seem to research what they’re talking about, and don’t just waffle in cliches.

Danny Murphy today suggesting Spurs had an easy route to the Champions League final........WTF???
Possibly the hardest group stage I have ever seen for a British club followed by peak Dortmund, peak City, and a fabulous Ajax team that had already beat Madrid 3-1 at the Bernabua......might I add, it was possibly one of the most exciting CL runs I can recall as well!
Bear in mind that European Champions Villa beat Valur > Dynamo Berlin > Dynamo Kiev > Anderlecht when they got to the final!

Every time I try and listen to Talksport all I hear is total rubbish, in this video at 2:35 Jordan says 2018/19 season we reached Champions League Final , absolutely true he then says the following season we didn't spend a dime , absolute rubbish . We went out and spent a record fee for us at the time on N'dombelly plus Lo Celso & Sess
