Genuinely thought we'd go on and win that at 1-1. And then the counter happened and we looked clueless again (though Wolves defended well).
We're in that early stage of a coach's time where if the opposition get ahead, they make it incredibly difficult to get back into the game as they just sit and ask questions of you.

AVB had it, Poch had it. Redknapp had it too at times.

Pep had it, Klopp had it.

There's an early period where you think "Great we are playing good football again".

But then teams start to combat it or adapt during a game and it suddenly looks a bit ponderous.

We are going through this phase.

It's like the whole league is against you cause one team will figure it out and the rest will copy that.

Just takes time to get over that hurdle as players need to get sharper or make little adaptations.

Once we understand what teams are doing to us, we will get better and sharper to overcome it.

Teams are coming with a gameplan and if we don't make a stronger start, they grow in confidence.

We need to get much sharper so we can start stronger and raise doubts for the opposition.

If their gameplan is to make it hard for us and catch us out but we are blowing them away, they lose that resolve.

But at the moment, cause we are out of sorts, we are giving them something to feed off and we also ourselves get a little scrambled.

We just need to find that early rhythm again and speed it up.

Palace should be an ideal game to get back into it, so we shall see

It's got two more points and two less defeats than the wiggy fraud had this time last year.
With a weaker squad, mid-week ECL football and a mid season World Cup to contend with - well impressed. Interesting you use the word 'fraud' to describe a bloke who has won 5 titles with three teams in two of Europe's toughest leagues - what does that make Ange in your opinion?

Too easy for Wolves, and got what we deserved today.

We play on the edge the whole time, and one bad pass or miss control leads to either a goal or a golden opportunity. I know it's high risk high reward football, but it should never be this easy.

i hope some jurnos asks Ange what he thinks about our pressing, and what has happend from the start of the season. i do not reckognise this team without the ball. With the ball i understand because Maddison is way of form and he wsa the one that made us tick before the injury, he looks like 50% of himself, but the press is where i am most concerned

The bottom line is, we can't carry on being soft and easy to score against and hope to drag ourselves over the line for 3 points time and time again, eventually it's going to catch up with us and bite us on the arse. It's been coming and we can't say we've not seen it coming.
We just about squeezed 6 points out of home wins against Brentford and Brighton.

He had the best forward in the world, and did you miss the two continental tournaments that just happened mid-season?

Honestly the best thing about him and Mourinho being gone is not having to have Spurs fans point to titles won by fucking Chelsea as an example of why we should like a manager.

Think we’ve just got a patch where half our starting XI are rusty and trying to regain sharpness and fitness after a period out or away with their national team. It’ll get better but today’s performance and result have looked on the cards for weeks.

Conte had Harry Kane and didn't have anywhere near as many injury issues to contend with. We were pretty competitive until he basically gave up after the world cup break.

It's amazing how people try to skew things when they are feeling down and negative.

We got done by a well coached team that are a bad stylistic match up for us and played better on the day.

Definite cause for concern but think people need to chill out a bit and not get carried away.

Very insipid display. We’ve come up against enough teams who just want to sit deep, and yet we still do not have a game plan.

We dont look to get crosses into the box - which is good because there is often barely anyone in there until we slowly grind forward, by which time the opponent has also slowly got back

We dont look to play intricate give and gos to work opportunities

We dont look to shoot from distance.

If we dont win the ball high up the pitch on have space to quickly exploit, we’re got nothing, and it doesn’t how many speedy or tricky wingers we get in, if all we do is give them the ball and at best expect them to do it on their own and at worst run in and block any space there might have been then we will end up with the same end result.

But this is phase 1, and I think a full off and pre season should give Ange a chance to further develop our play so we can go add going slow, slow, fast to our helter shelter chaos ball

I disagree with this. I think some people are looking for excuses for Ange. We haven’t defended well all season. Conceding 38 goals in 25 games with the players we have in defence is unacceptable.

The issue is our midfield were clicking and creating chances all over the pitch. That’s now completely fallen off a cliff and the defence is getting exposed.

Worst performance at home all season and it’s our 5th loss at home .

we seem to lack a plan B

we got very lucky in recent home games Brighton and Brentford so I guess this was definitely on the cards

That was so boring, frustrating and just a little bit ordinary and predictable.

Sit in a low block and counter us, it's so easy to play against at times.

The slow starts need to stop. The stupid goals we concede, they're so avoidable it's not even funny any more. The amount of pressure we put on ourselves by suicidal defending is unnecessary.

I don't think Porro or Udogie would have made a huge amount of difference today. We were so average.

You don't have to like him to acknowledge that he has a much better CV at a higher level than Ange.

We still have to play Chelsea West Ham Newcastle Villa Liverpool away from home.

With City and Arsenal at home.

Today's result is a massive blow for our top 4 chances. Utd could be 3pts behind us tomorrow too.

glasner ball with 2 weeks to set up. No way we are beating a superior low block transition team. ayew will bag quite a few goals.

On the other hand ange has 2 weeks to sort something out. One of those should be Son in the 9 and bin the brazillian donkey.

And why is our midfield and creativity no longer clicking and fallen off a cliff? Maybe because it’s full of players who are still searching for form and fitness after a period out. Yeah defensively there’s lots of concerns but that’s not the only reason/way in which we’re playing poorly, and it’s much easier to expose a ropey defence if the team isn’t dangerous and free flowing going forwards.
