#thfc are willing to treble Giovani Lo Celso’s current wage at Real Betis to ensure he forces through a £60M transfer to the club. [Diario Sevilla]

Its gone quiet because things have returned to the normal Spurs way.
We earned about £50 million more then we anticipated by making CL final and have spent it.
Now we return to normal no more buying until we sell.
But thats not so bad we only have to sell
Eriksen
Wanyama
Trippier
Aurier
Onamah
to be able to afoord two more mid fielders and a good right back
And as all of the above are in great demand its easy peasy
Dont ho;d your breath

Bet you're a right laugh at parties.

I don't see how that will 'force' anything through. It's the club that supposedly only want to negotiate at his release clause price.

Whilst we're talking bookies & odds I thought I'd add that I went to school with a kid called William hill, what's the odds on that :cautious:

I do get the feeling this one will drag out for a bit, before a price is agreed. I do get the feeling Lo Celso is sold on us, so still remaining hopeful if will happen.

I've always wondered how often do the clubs actually make contact with each other to negotiate. Is it a case of Levy phoning their chairman and going over details once, twice, a dozen times before progress is made? Or do they deliberately not phone each other for days to see if someone will cave in first.

For example, when i've put a bid in on a house - i'll give my offer via the estate agent and hear back within five minutes to be told it's not accepted; i then give another offer straight away via the estate agent and it goes back and forth like that until we meet in the middle. @Trix or someone else care to explain how protracted negotations are or aren't?

Thanks in advance

In my mind it works in a similar way to buying a house. So many deals are dependent on others going through that it's like being in a 'chain' when buying/selling your house. And if you've experienced it then you'll understand that patience is the name of the game, and that it only takes one 'link' in the chain to break for everything to fall through.
