I agree, although there are quite a few keepers who seem happy to be second or third choice throughout their careers.

If Poch wants to keep him then Levy will offer him a contract. Levy's not going to let an interview from two years ago while the player was suffering from depression cloud his judgement.
I really think it’s a marriage of convenience at the moment. Rose constantly talks about how much he enjoys being with England and Southgate, and not a word about Poch. It’s a matter of time before he leaves.

honest I'm not having ago, but why not wait and see what our budget is. no one except Levy, Poch and Hitchin no exactly what we have to spend, no one knows how much we will finally get for the possible 12 out if that's true.

we can't spend every year basing our guesses on what we spent previous seasons

dont know where he'd go. He's had some good games lately but he's 2 years removed from his PFA team of the season form.

If Tielemens is available at £40m he has got to be worth a serious look. He's had a goal or an assist in all but one game for Lei since signing on loan. Wonder if we can tempt him to stay in the Prem with us?

I think your views lacked credibility when you included Dier and omitted Sissoko. Dier for me is a spent source who will only get back in in dire circumstances. I don't that Southgate will be even including him in any future England set up. Onions and all that
I’m really saddened by the change in sentiment towards Dier by some fans, thankfully I don’t think it is shared by Poch. Dier has had an injury hit season, when fit I expect him to make lots of you eat your words. As good as Sissoko has been this season I’d still have a fit Dier ahead of him at DM because he screens the defence so well. It is no coincidence our defence has looked much more vulnerable this season without either a Dier or Wanyama fit.

Generally agree. I think Sissoko has been more like Wanyama in the way he defends, i.e. he gets around the pitch and hunts the ball down. We don't really have anyone else who does the same as Dier and his role was so fundamental to the way we played that we've really missed him. Dier/Sissoko, Dier/Winks and Sissoko/Winks are all good combinations from the available options imo.

I would go for something like this (although ideally I'd find a way to get better Fullbacks too):

In:

Nabil Fekir - £60m
Ndombele - £60m
Ryan Sessegnon - £30m
Pope or Bettinelli as 2nd/3rd choice HG keeper - £10m
Joachim Andersen - £20m
Kruse - £0

Total: £180m

Out:

Vorm - £0
Llorente - £0
NKoudou - £5m
Wanyama - £5m
Aurier - £20m
Lamela - £25m
Toby - £25m
Eriksen - £70m

Total: £150m

This would leave a squad of:

Goalkeepers: 3 - 1HG

Lloris, Gazza, Pope/Bettinelli

Fullbacks: 4 - 3HG

Trippier, KWP, Rose, Davies

Central Defenders: 4

Jan, Sanchez, Foyth, Andersen

Central Midfielders: 4 - 1HG

Winks, Sissoko, Dier, NDombele

Attacking Mids: 5 - 2HG

Dele, Fekir, Son, Lucas, Sessegnon

Strikers: 2 - 1HG

Kane, Kruse

Squad size of 22 and leaves space to register Onomah for some more depth and possibly CCV and Edwards plus any potential January signings.
If we sign any ONE of Sessegnon, Ndombele and Fekir I will be astonished.

Diers problem is, he’s not a midfielder. He’s barely a defensive midfielder thesedays.

Just stop fighting it and become a really top class ball playing centre half. I genuinely think he could become a top class centre half. Time is running out though. Two choices - fairly decent holding midfielder or top class centre half

He’s too big to be a midfielder. He had a good period in that role but he’s grown since then. Just not mobile enough

Should have saved both Son's and Kane's goals at Wembley last season imo.

Anyway the last thing we should be looking at is another overseas keeper.

Lloris has had a troubled season but winning a world cup and his drink driving charges certainly might have something to do with it. I'm more than ok with him having Lloris as number 1 for 1 more season at least with Gazzaniga pushing him. 3rd keeper should be HG.

Hugo is replaceable but we need to get it right. We also need to consider he’s not got long left until his value drops off a cliff. This might be our last chance of getting decent money for him.

Disagree. If you look at when we’ve been most successful it has been when Dier plays DM and rotates with the CHs, he provides Poch a crucial flexibility in our in game formation.

I don’t think that Dier exists anymore. Also, more importantly, more often than not he had Dembele or a fit Wanyama putting in a shift somewhere near him.

I don't think people are turning on Dier - just saying that he's had a poor season. IMO he could be one hell of a player if he stopped trying to be Pirlo and started trying to be Makalele. In other words, break stuff up and give the ball to better passers than he is. He does have plenty of footballing talent but his long passing can be very hit and miss. I certainly wouldn't advocate selling him but he needs to keep things simple and build consistency IMO.

He has been injured pretty much the entire season, what type of season do people expect him to have ?

I actually think his long passing is far better than people give him credit for.
