Odds on the combined aggregate score being 10+?
Seriously the most entertaining game on offer. Will be the polar opposite to athletico v juve.
Everybody can say whatever they want about this but it boils down to 3 key points imo.
1) which team converts their chances more often (id say dortmund are more lethal than us RIGHT NOW)
2) Whos defense can concede the least chances to the other to score from (if we have toby, jan, rose, auriee than we win in that respect).
3) If NWHL is ready!! European night under the lights with 62k yids desperate for german blood. We need the ferocious atmospher just as they will have at theirs. An nervous and tense wembley is not ideal.

This game will be bonkers and go to the very last minute at their place.

Edit...i added a 3rd but equally important point!!!

You lost me there. Mr Liability will at least double the rest of the team’s chances conceded.

Fundamentally my point, we're still not using dark arts to frustrate our opponents, against Barcelona we had an opportunity to get Vermaelen in trouble for the studs up challenge on Eriksen, Eriksen should have gone down clutching his leg and the other players should have surrounded the ref, what did we do...? fuck all. A min later Son was through on goal and he gets clipped by a defender and he stays on his feet, if he goes down then that player gets sent off. The same against PSV in Eindhoven where we should have managed period when Lloris got sent off better, they went onto score.

Our game management is good but not at the level of these teams such as Juve, this is why everyone talks about having the experience in these competition because it counts and players know what to do to win. This is why I don't think we can measure group stage matches against knock out matches because as I mentioned earlier there's a whole new level of intensity and mentality as it's sudden death so whether we played well against bigger sides in the group stages are irrelevant, we dismissed Real Madrid last season and they went onto win the CL.

And we're still giving away cheap goals, how many goals can you remember so far in this CL campaign where the opposition has earnt their goals, maybe 3 or 4?, the rest you can say we've literally handed the opportunity to the opposition or we could have done a lot better in preventing them.

This is why we need to avoid the bigger sides like Juve/Real/Bayern/PSG and hope for Porto or Dortmund because it's not just merely about ability, it's about mentality, game management and dark arts which comes down to experience and we're not as schooled as the bigger sides in the competition yet.

This is whhhhhhy :)

I would like Bayern Munich.
1 - I think they are very beatable this season (all be it improving)
2 - it means Liverpool go out
3 - I live in Germany surrounded by Bayern fans and it would be great to have a meaningful match to watch with them

Bayern would be a dream draw if they go through.

In all honesty we should be pretty confident playing anyone barring Atletico or Juve.

If we play the dark arts it goes like this (let's use Barcelona as an example)

10 minutes in, Suarez is sent through on goal, Sanchez catches him up, makes no attempt to tackle him, preferring to just shoulder him to the side fairly. Suarez bites him then dives. Barcelona penalty, Sanchez sent off for not letting Barcelona score.

Or

10 minutes in, Son sent through on goal, lines up the shot, keeper comes out studs high, sends Son up in the air into a display of eye popping mid air acrobatics. Free kick to Barcelona just because.

You can only play the dark arts if you have the ref in your back pocket. It was clear Juve had that at Wembley as they didn't concede any free kicks and got given them at every single opportunity.

The Barcelona "come back" against PSG a couple of years ago tells you everything you need to know about their influence on refs.

2 positives. Dortmund doesn't have that aura that bayern Madrid juve and psg have. Think that is huge psychologically. Second, every team has a dip in form and as dormund havent had one yet they should have one around our game against them

This post got ridiculed but it was spot on.

More confident of beating them as opposed to total shithousers.

I think mentally, we'd play as if we're already beaten by those two. Whereas playing against a more unknown quantity like Barcelona, would see us give it a full go away winning.

Before last night I'd have said Ajax. Ask me today I'd say Porto/Roma. Ask me again tomorrow I'll probably say different.

Overall though I'd say it won't matter if we can get the stadium ready for the home leg. That night against a Munich or PSG or Barca could be special.

We have proven in last the 18 months we can go away in Europe and get results.

In order of most like to face vs least.

Porto/Roma
Ajax
Bayern - Hoping they knock Liv out because I want to avoid Liv
Athleti/Juve
Barca
Psg
City

If Liv went through I'd probably want to play them over Barca/PSG/City. I can't see Juve getting through now with Athleti level defending.
