The Manchester clubs are too strong for the rest and will battle it out for top spot with the other getting second most likely, although I sound like captain obvious really can't see any other possibility.

I think City are really strong, however, United aren't the greatest side in the world.

They have started well, but I wouldn't be surprised to see us above them come February/March.

To be fair, we've done nothing to refute the suggestion that Wembley will hurt us this season so far. Until we do, the naysayers will be chirping.
Exactly, until we sort our woeful Wembley form out we've got nothing to be chirpy about

I think we should get fourth but I don't see us finishing any higher. City, Utd and Chelsea look too strong. Which is nothing to be ashamed of considering how much more money they have to work with and the fact we are in a transition year.
I disagree that we are in a transition year. The transition took place a couple of seasons after Poch took over.

Well struggle to make top 4 cos of Wembley. That's all.
I wouldn’t be suprised if we have a similar record to our home form this season but for our Away matches. Looks like we have worked out how to counter the teams playing at home also not many teams will park the bus at home which obviously suits us.

Early days. Man City had more points this time last season than they do now.

I think it's fair to say that we will struggle to get top 4. It doesn't mean that we wont get it, but it will be difficult and personally i would be more than happy with a top 4 finish.

Wembley is a big reason and probably the biggest because we were almost invincible at home last season. Thats a huge differnce.

The big teams have also invested huge amount of money and have started out getting wins. Don't underestimate how much it means that managers like Pep, Mourinho and Conte all have a season with their clubs. First season can always be a bit of a problem for all managers. We are already behind 3 of the biggest clubs in the league. City bought our best RB and United and Chelsea dropped a huge sum on strikers. That is just something we cant do.

We are in a lot of competitions and with really good opponents. We cant even rest players because we have to get maximum points. A game like Apoel would have been a perfect game to give some of our players some rest, but because it's such a tough group we are pretty much forced to play with our best 11.

Hell even the cups are tough. Yes could rest players against Barnsley, but next up is West Ham. And we have so many injuries.

And finally we are extremely dependent on Kane, Eriksen and Alli. They have close to all of our goals and assists between them. An injury to one or two of them would hurt us much more than the other top clubs. Chelsea have been without Hazard and they have two points more. An injury to someone like De Bruyne or Mata wouldn't hurt them as much as an injury to Eriksen would hurt us.

Agree with this. Getting top 4 will be tough. Wembley, our squad depth, the fact we're blooding in first teamers like Aurier and Sanchez into a new league, let alone a new team and system, the fact that our resources will be stretched due to the fact that we'll be going all in with the CL, then we have the domestic cups on top of that.

Much of the challenge is due to our recent success, ie actually qualifying for CL and making use of our recent experience in the comp and putting ourselves in a great spot to get into the ko rounds.

Think we'll get top 4 though.

It's a consistent theme from the last three seasons. The so-called prognosticators, apply their wits and experience to evaluate our chances, and the only consistency I see, is an inherent bias to the bigger clubs. You'd think they'd learn their lesson, but I doubt it. Many of them don't like the fact that we are one of the elite now. We could win the league three years in a row, and they'd still predict each season we will finish outside of the top four. Old geezers, with old biases, determined not to give us due respect.

We will.

When we start to get all our players back like Lamela, Rose, Wanyama etc... We'll be as good as anyone in the league. As the season goes on we'll get more acclimatised to Wembley, and hopefully can add a trophy because Poch and the team desperately deserve one.

I knew Lawrenson when he was Manager at Posh, met him a few times, and still have the same opinion of him now.

He's a cock.

We'll really see what Chelsea and Liverpool are made of come winter time.

They both didn't have European games last year and we've only been through one week of it so far. We'll start to see what toll that takes later on in the season.

Liverpool didn't add a whole lot of depth this window and you could even argue Chelsea didn't either as they were replacing outs like Costa and Matic.

Chelsea were also massively lucky with injuries and were basically able to play the exact same XI week in and week out to continue the chemistry and fluidity. I think it's quite likely they don't get the same luck this year.

One week we are the best team in the prem and the next we won't make top 4.
Most pundits spout a load of fucking shit...some more than others and Lawro is right up there.
We are one of a few teams that can go on a consistent long winning run.where that takes us who knows. But top 4 is the minimum i would expect us to get once we really kick into gear.

Wembley is the issue this season. If we were at The Lane this term, I genuinely think we'd win the league.
I'm not all that bothered about finishing in the top 4 this season. I'd rather win something.

This team is together for at least one more season ( Levy isn't letting anyone leave before the move home ) Add one over the Summer and if we can settle in the new gaff quickly, well, the fairytale can happen!

Imagine not only winning the title but doing it in our first season at the new Lane!!!!

2 keys to us getting top 4 imho.

1) Most of our squad staying injury free.

2) Possibly getting a fit Barkley (or someone else if Barkley not fit) in Jan. If we are top 4 coming into January and get Barkley, we should be fine.

Is it specifically Wembley, or is it simply because we're not playing at The Lane? Would we have seen better results if we'd been playing our 'home' games at MK, for instance? Maybe, maybe not.

Our Away form suggests that it's more to do with Wembley...we just need to get over that mental hurdle and we'll be good.

It is early days yes but they are not just winning games they are taking teams apart, and their squad is packed with quality something we can't match.
